Two bit of casting news this week: Rashida Jones, the charming and delightful co-star of NBC’s “The Office”, has landed a role in David Fincher’s social networking movie called, well, “Social Network”. She joins a cast that includes Justin Timberlake and Jesse Eisenberg, and revolves around the founders of the social-networking website Facebook and their less-than-amicable split.
Aaron Sorkin wrote the script, with Fincher directing.
Over at thriller land, Frank Langella, fresh off freaking people in “The Box”, has joined the international thriller “Unknown White Male”. He joins Liam Neeson, January Jones and Diane Kruger in the film, which will star Neeson as a man who awakens from a coma to find somebody else has assumed his identity. Langella will play Cole, who comes forward as the coma guy’s colleague and gets involved as he tries to reclaim his identity.
Shooting on “Unknown White Male” is expected to commence January 2010 on location in Berlin. Jaume Collet-Serra (“House of Wax” remake and “Orphan”) wil direct.
