i think alexander skarsgard was a perfect fit as thor. He is swedish six foot four blond and he can act. The guy they casted looks like a douche.

Before asking who will play the title roles, I think we should be more concerned about the storyline of the movie itself. I think it would be better to base the movie on the actual legend of thor as told in the actual norse mythology as the first episode in what I would expect to be a trilogy.

He’s not in his late 20’s but Vladimir Kulich is 6′5″ and looks like a Norse Viking! You could easily imagine crushing bad guys with a giant hammer. He even has the accent to go with the role. Don’t bleieve me? watch any of his scenes in the 13th Warrior.

Hey people come on!!, the person who should play Thor and Looks like Thor is WWE wrestler Triple H. I know they are looking for a younger actor, but he has that look and the built for the part. So I hope it happens.

My vote would be Josh Holloway from Lost (Sawyer) as Thor. He’s the right age, has the right personality, and is well known enough to generate interest.

I don’t have a problem with Branagh directing. Cripes, maybe he will bring a bit of that Shakespearean pomp to the film. What would be better? Getting a McG type to come in and just lampoon the whole concept? T’hell with that. We’d find ourselves staring gape-mouthed at the next Catwoman before we could say, “Od’s Blood!”

No way. Give me a high-falutin’ director like Kenneth Branagh who might actually respect the character and really dig into the TheeThouThine of it all!

I heard the story would be set in Asgard to begin and wrap up with him coming to Midgard in the guise/alter ego of Donald Blake – similar to the original. Personally I think its a cool idea and I second the ide of getting a no-name to play him. Look what it did for Wolverine – who heard of Hugh Jackman before that?
