Two minor casting notices to get out of the way today (re: small supporting roles), one featuring “Harold and Kumar’s” John Cho suiting up for Len Wiseman’s “Total Recall” remake.
Cho will play “McClane, the smooth-talking rep for the mind-messing company that tempts Colin Farrell’s Douglas Quaid to implant fantastic memories into his brain.”
Cho joins Colin Farrell, playing Quaid, and Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale as the two women in his life. Bill Nighty was previously cast as resistance leader Quatto, while Bryan Cranston will play the heavy. Ethan Hawke is said to have a super secret cameo (that will probably be leaked way before the movie arrives in theaters, natch).
Meanwhile, “Scrubs'” Zach Braff is joining Sam Raimi’s “Oz The Great and Powerful”.
He will play “Frank, the loyal but under-appreciated assistant to Oz”.
James Franco will play Oz, a charismatic magician who finds himself blown off course while in a balloon, only to land in the magical kingdom of Oz, where he butts heads with three witch sisters played by Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, and Michelle Williams.
