Actor William Fitchner, easily the best thing about Patrick Lussier’s ridiculous 3D nonsense “Drive Angry”, is in final negotiations to join “District 9” director Neill Blomkamp’s sophomore effort “Elysium”. Fitchtner would join Matt Damon, playing a futuristic ex-con, while Brazilian actor Wagner Moura will play the film’s main villain.
“District 9” leading man Sharlto Copley and Jodie Foster are also in the movie, set for sometime in 2013.
The actor is also closing a deal to join kooky French director Quentin Dupieux’s “Wrong”. Dupieux is the director of the kooky “horror” movie “Rubber”, about a killer, well, rubber tire.
Over at “21 Jump Street”, former “Daily Show” comedian and real-life badass Marine Rob Riggle (below) is in negotiations to join the big-screen adaptation of the Fox TV show about undercover cops in high school.
Riggle would play “a member of D.A.D. — Dads Against Drugs. — who has a burn-marked face and is secretly the main drug supplier.” Hopefully that little description didn’t just ruin Riggle’s character in the movie.
The film will star Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube, with Phil Lord and Chris Miller directing.
