CTU fans rejoice. There’s a new and very nicely paced 2-minute trailer for 24’s upcoming seventh season that reveals a little bit more about the upcoming season’s plotlines. We now know that the events that will be taking place in the 24 movie, “Redemption” (scheduled to premiere as a standalone movie next month) will actually have ramifications well into the show’s seventh season. In particular, Tony Todd’s African dictator character will be coming to Washington to exact some payback from the female President’s interference in his attempted coup in his fictional African country.
Although it’s still not clear who Tony Almeida, who is very much alive, is actually working for as he tries to crash some planes on the show, my money is on Jon Voight’s international arms dealer character, who also has a bit of a grudge against ol Jack. But then again, who doesn’t?
“24: Redemption” premieres in November, followed by Season 7 of 24 the TV show in [...]

New batch of images from Jack Bauer’s latest adventures in Africa in the 24 TV movie “24: Redemption” (formerly Exile). As you can tell from these images, Jack Bauer has gone all grizzled and what have you, but that won’t stop him from expertly handling a gun like a fat kid diving at a table with cake on it, and let me tell you, you don’t want to get between a fat kid and cake. Same with Jack Bauer and automatic weapons. Jon Cassar directs the movie, which hits airwaves on November 23, 2008, and sets up the seventh season of 24 the TV show. The DVD will get released the following week.
And in case you missed it, a longer version of the trailer was posted here.

So is it called “Redemption” or “Exile”? The original title for the 24 movie coming in November was “Exile”, but then I got a press release from FOX calling it “Redemption” for the DVD release. Who knows. What we do know is that Jack Bauer is back in a 2-hour movie this November, which will introduce a new bad guy played by Jon Voight, an arms dealer with ties to powerful people, including the new female President? Maybe. Or at least, he’s got powerful enough connections that he gets to attend her historical inauguration. A new, longer trailer for the movie has shown up, including some SPOILERS.
SPOILERS courtesy of E! Online:
Jack is in [the fictional African country] Sangala working at a school run by Carl Benton (Robert Carlyle) a friend of Jack’s from when he was in Special Forces. This works out well, because when Juma’s henchman Col. Dubaku (Hakeem Kae-Kazim) comes looking for the kids it means Benton has [...]

Will there ever come a time when I get tired of watching Jack Bauer and his terrorist-hunting ways on 24? Sure, I can see it happening one of these days. It’ll probably be about the same time they bring David Palmer back from the dead, Jack starts acting like a pussy and refuses to torture people, and Chloe O’Brien becomes strangely normal. Until then, I still like my daily dose of 24, and gosh darn it, I’m looking forward to Season 7 even though Season 6 was less than spectacular. Let’s face it, when Jack’s brother and daddy starts becoming involve in conspiracies, you know the writers are starting to become desperate for new ideas.
Jack Bauer saves Africa November 23rd in the original TV movie “24: Redemption” (formerly “24: Exile”), leading into the seventh season in early 2009.

Because, apparently, “Redemption” just sounds redemption-er than “Exile”, FOX has officially changed the subtitle of the upcoming 24 TV movie premiering later this year from “24: Exile” to “24: Redemption”. What won’t change, though, is the TV movie’s plot, which still finds Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) in Africa working as a missionary and trying to escape his wanted status in the United States, but finds himself in the middle of an African warlord’s warpath instead. Damn, it sucks to be Jack Bauer, huh?
“24: Redemption” hits DVD shelves on November 25th from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, the Tuesday immediately following the network television premiere over the weekend. Which means, as soon as you see this thing on TV, two days later you’ll be able to get it at your local Best Buy, or Fry’s, or wherever it is that you buy your DVDs.
“24: Redemption” will bridge the gap between Seasons 6 and the year-long delayed 7, and is the [...]

24 fans have been waiting with bated breath for Season 7 (yes, even after the somewhat lackluster Season 6), and apparently so has FOX, because they plan on capitalizing on Jack Bauer’s African adventure (the setting for the 24 2-hour TV movie, “Exile”) by releasing the DVD version the Tuesday after the movie premieres on broadcast TV. That means you can get this thing the day after you see it on TV. If it’s, you know, good. I don’t suppose you’d want to buy it if it sucked. But I digress. Here’s your full spec for the DVD, including a new still, but no DVD cover as yet.

How do you know the 24 prequel movie is based entirely in a world of fiction? Because it opens with the first woman being sworn in as the President of the United States. Now I’m not saying that Americans can’t handle a woman being President, but I am saying that the closest a woman has ever come to being elected President, we spent all our time making fun of her thunder thighs and wondering how long it’s been since she got the “once over” by the hubby. But hey, that’s real life, and in the world of fiction, 24 is about to introduce their first ever female President. Plus, some crap goes down in Africa or something. Luckily for America, our baddest bad boy, Jack Bauer, just happens to be there to save the day. God Bless you, Jack Bauer.
Behold, the first trailer for 24: The Movie. Well, the TV prequel movie, anyway. Not the actual feature-length movie. I [...]

It sucks to be Jack Bauer’s friend. Hell, it sucks to live in the same city as Jack Bauer! For Scottish actor Robert Carlyle (pictured, left), it sucks to be Jack Bauer’s “best buddy” who turns out to be another one of his (in a long line of never-ending) nemesis. Carlyle recently spoke with Premiere magazine about the 24 TV movie prequel, set to air later this year and take place in Africa, and lead into the seventh season of FOX’s very clearly aging show 24.
Says Carlyle about his character:
My character’s called Carl Benton who is Jack Bauer’s best buddy and he hasn’t seen him for 10 years or something. Jack’s on his travels and he comes to see Carl and hang out with him and potentially change his life. Maybe…
And also according to Carlyle, Season 7 of 24 will actually only be 22 hours, with the first two hours taking place in the TV movie set in Africa.
Huh? [...]
