Sarah Wynter survived Jack Bauer, but Reiko Aylesworth wasn’t quite so lucky. After all, i’s not easy loving America’s greatest badass warrior (onscreen or off, as it turns out). Luckily for the two lovely ladies, “24″ was just a TV show, and they’ve survived to reunite on the FX Channel’s third season of “Damages”. I’ve never seen “Damages”, but it’s won a ton of awards, and that’s gotta be for a reason, right? The show, I believe, revolves around the world of high-stakes litigation, and originally launched with Glenn Close and Rose Byrne as its female stars.
THR has Sarah Wynter (top, left) playing a mysterious “security specialist” who assists a high-level assistant district attorney to be played by Martin Short. Together, they try to unravel an ongoing financial scheme. Oooh, timely! Here’s hoping the two don’t hook up onscreen because, let’s face it, it’s just gonna look weird.
Aylesworth (bottom), meanwhile, gets boring wife duty as the spouse of Campbell Scott’s [...]

First you thought he was a dolt, then it turns out he was kinda a mastermind. Okay, not really, because his conspiracy blew up in his face pretty fast, thanks to one Jack Bauer, but he was orchestrating the whole thing. The trades are now reporting that Charles Logan (played by Gregory Itzin) will return for a multi-episode arc in the show’s upcoming eighth season, which will premiere with a two-night, four-hour bow on January 17 and 18.
As you’ll recall, the disgraced Prez was thought dead during Season 6, when his wife (in an awesome moment) shanked him in the neck. As it turns out, not so much; it was mentioned briefly that he survived his ordeal last year, but we never saw him. Now he’s back for Season 8, when female Prez Allison Taylor calls him in to help with an escalating international diplomatic crisis.
Season 8 of Fox’s aging action-adventure show “24″ will find Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) appropriately [...]

You know I love me my “24″, so of course I was excited when the first trailer for Fox’s “24″ Season 8 finally showed up online. And yes, I still can’t believe I just said this is the eighth season for the show. To say that it’s “aging” now would be an understatement. For God’s sake, Jack Bauer is now someone’s grandpa! Another terrorist-infested and conspiracy-laden day starts all over January 2010.
Season 8 of “24″ has Jack Bauer going up against terrorists intent on killing an important Middle Eastern diplomat in New York for a meeting with the U.S. President. Cherry Jones returns as President Taylor, along with Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe O’Brian. Also back is Elisha Cuthbert as Kim Bauer. Yeah, I could have done without her, too, but apparently she’s necessary given that Jack now has a granddaughter to save. Hopefully the little tyke won’t be as hostage-prone as mommy.

Three new enlistees for the eighth season of FOX’s 24 (via THR): Rami Malek will play Marcos, an Arab-American and would-be suicide bomber; Julian Morris as a CTU SWAT agent; and Hrach Titizian will play Nabeel, the second-in-command of security for President Hassan (”Slumdog Millionaire’s” Anil Kapoor), a visiting Middle Eastern diplomat who becomes targeted for assassination, forcing Jack Bauer to come out of retirement (again) to save the day.
Over at the USA Network, the Piper Perabo spy show Covert Affairs gets three new castmembers as well: Eric Lively and Kari Matchett will play senior CIA agents, with Lively’s character named Conrad Sheehan III, described as “a third-generation CIA man and womanizer who enjoys a spicy rapport with Annie”, Perabo’s junior CIA agent character.
Matchett (below), most recently seen in the canceled sci-fi show Invasion, will play Annie’s boss, described as a driven CIA agent in charge of the agency’s Domestic Protection Division. And finally, Eion Bailey will play Annie’s [...]

Oh, Jack, will you ever find true love? Or at least, one that doesn’t die on you or slip into a near-coma condition? Probably not, but that won’t stop fans of the long-running action-adventure show in hoping that the producers do everyone, but especially our boy Jack a really big solid by returning Audrey Raines (played by Kim Raver) back into Jack’s arms this season. Or at least, bring the girl nearby in some sort of reconnection in the upcoming (and possibly last?) season.
Says exec producer Evan Katz on the potential return of Audrey Raines in Season 8 (via EW):
Some of the things we’re doing this season preclude [her returning],” he says. “So I think not. She was in bad shape the last time we saw her.”
According to Katz, they still don’t know if FOX will renew the show for a ninth season, or if star Kiefer Sutherland will even return, as his contract expires after this season and you [...]

As Season 8 of Fox’s 24 begins, Jack is living in New York with Kim and her daughter, and trying to be as normal as possible. Of course, we know that’s impossible. Soon, an old contact named Victor (played by The Shield’s Benito Martinez) comes to Jack to warn him of an impending assassination of a visiting Middle Eastern diplomat at the United Nations, forcing Jack into action. Here’s a clip of that meeting between Jack and his contact. There’s supposed to be a second clip that shows off the new CTU headquarters in New York, which features a grumpy Chloe having returned from maternity leave and trying to catch up, and butting heads with the new hotshot computer chick played by Katee Sackhoff.

Two bits of TV casting for ya this Monday. First up is former Heroes and Reaper star Missy Peregrym, who has landed the female lead in the new Canadian TV show Copper, which has been sold to ABC and will air on the alphabet network. THR says the show will star Peregrym as Andy McNally, a newly minted cop fresh from the academy and the daughter of a homicide detective, who’s first day on the job doesn’t exactly go as planned.
No idea if that sounds like a comedy, a dramedy, or straight-up police drama. Then again, you got Missy Peregrym (below) in the lead, so maybe going the comedy or dramedy route is the way to go. Girl’s great to look at, but I’m not sure if this is Homicide: Life on the Streets material here.
In other TV casting news, THR says T.J. Ramini (Desperate Housewives, top left) has joined the eighth season of FOX’s aging action-adventure show. He’ll [...]

So does this mean the “Daredevil” reboot isn’t happening? Whatever the case, it looks like Battlestar Galactica alum Katee Sackhoff won’t be among the canceled show’s unemployed for long, as she’s just landed a cushy gig on Season 8 of FOX’s 24, which has already begun production for a January 2010 premiere. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sackhoff will play a CTU systems analyst name Dana Walsh, who is said to have a secret past with new CTU badass Davis Cole, who will be played by fellow 24 newcomer Freddie Prinze Jr.
Apparently the negotiations to bring Sackhoff onboard has been ongoing for a couple of weeks now, and is only now making the trades. Knowing the show, and its CTU agents, it goes without saying that Sackhoff’s Walsh will have a secret past with someone, and that said past will come to the fore as the season progresses. Being that Walsh is also a CTU agent, and one of [...]

When you think badass Marine turned fearless counter terrorist brawler, you of course think Freddie Prinze Jr. Right? Well the folks casting 24’s eighth season do, and they’ve just cast the former “She’s All That” star as a “recently returned ex-Marine” who is now a member of the show’s newly reconstituted CTU. Prinze will be a regular on the show, playing a character name David Cole, head of Field Ops for CTU who, according to THR, is looking to follow in the footsteps of Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland). Which means, of course, lots of rules breaking, torturing, and romances with soon-to-be-dead women.
Prinze Jr. joins a group of new faces on the show that includes “Slumdog Millionaire’s” Anil Kapoor as a visiting Middle East leader, Chris Diamantopoulos as the female president’s new chief of staff, John Boyd as a CTU systems analyst, and Jennifer Westfeldt as a journalist with ties to Kapoor’s character.

Two new castmembers for Season 8 of FOX’s aging action-adventure show 24 have been announced. Jennifer Westfeldt and John Boyd join the cast as recurring characters. Jennifer Westfeldt (”Kissing Jessica Stein”, below) will play a character name Meredith Reed, an ambitious journalist (aren’t they all?) with ties to Arman Hashemi (Anil Kapoor), the Middle East leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacemaking mission (supposedly, this is 24, after all) and ends up being targeted by terrorists (supposedly).
Boyd, meanwhile, will play a systems analyst in the newly re-activated CTU named Jonah Schwartz, who may or may not be a mole. Look, when you play anyone associated with CTU, it’s almost a given you’re either a total neurotic freak or you’re a mole. You can’t be both, or neither.

Jack Bauer shakes that off like other people shake off overgrown toenails. It ain’t no thang. According to 24 producer Howard Gordon, Jack Bauer will indeed survive next week’s two-hour season finale (what, you expected him to die?) and return just in time to start shooting Season 8, which commences photography in less than two weeks. And that headbutting incident and pending criminal charges? Gordon doesn’t expect it to delay shooting of Season 8.
Sutherland also spilled some plot points from the upcoming season to SciFiWire:
“The setup for season eight is the most realistic political thing that I think we’ve ever done since we started the show. We’ve had some seriously questionable circumstances in our show, and they’ve been a lot of fun to play, but I think the setup for season eight, in certain aspects, is something I actually hope will happen. Also, way, way too many usage of the word “conspiracy” has turned the season into something of a joke. Really, in one episode alone, I swear they said the word “conspiracy” about 50 times. Anyways, one can only hope that Season 8 will be better. Then again, maybe that’s asking for too much. Aging shows don’t get better, they get slower, more predictable, etc. So maybe Kiefer Sutherland headbutting some fashion designer in New York and possibly violating his L.A. drunken driving parole, leading to a delay in Season 8 production, is for the best?
So what exactly happened? There was a whole incident where Sutherland was at some fashion show and he headbutted a designer name Jack McCollough. Sutherland says it was because McCollough was being a douche and bumped into Brooke Shields, [...]

Yes, even after this week’s WTF moment with Tony Almeida. Is he or isn’t he, guys? Decide already!
Besides “Slumdog Millionaire’s” Anil Kapoor joining the cast of 24 Season 8 as a Middle Eastern leader, the show’s upcoming season is said to be starting production up real soon. How soon? How about next month. Yup, they’re already set to roll on this baby, and Season 7 isn’t even over yet. But what about more details?
How about this: Entertainment Weekly says the show’s eighth season will be set in New York, and CTU will return. Also back (probably in a more permanent role) is Mary Lynn Rajskub’s twitchy computer babe Chloe O’Brian, though no word on her hubby Morris’ whereabouts, though you figure he would show up too, along with the baby Chloe.
They’ll also be fresh blood (there would have to be, given how fast the show goes through new faces like Rosie O’Donnell through a buffet line) in a new CTU boss name Brian Hastings and two new, 20-something agents (one female, one male), presumably to [...]

So I guess this means Jack Bauer survives his little brush with bioweapon contamination, then? It would appear so, because Season 8 of Fox’s aging (and showing every year of it) 24 TV show is already penciling in an eighth season, and one of its regular cast members will be Indian actor Anil Kapoor, last seen as the game show host in Danny Boyle’s “Slumdog Millionaire”.
According to Variety, Kapoor would play “a leader from the Mideast who comes to the U.S. for a peacekeeping mission.” One assumes that entails meeting with the female President played by Cherry Jones (if she’s still alive at the end of Season 7, that is), and everyone’s favorite terrorist-busting fed, Jack Bauer. Let’s hope he survives longer than most Middle Eastern characters that show up on the show.
Speaking of Middle Eastern characters, what’s up with Nadia Yassir (below), guys? Can we expect her back in Season 8? Pretty please?

Is Jack Bauer destined to head over to Europe to dispense his brand of terrorist scum killing ways? Maybe, says Kiefer Sutherland, star of Fox’s long-running action adventure show, who was over in the Old Country recently to attend the premiere of his animated movie “Aliens vs. Monsters”, in which he provides the voice of a (what else?) warmongering General.
Sutherland tells Digitial Spy:
“It’s something that we’ve always talked about because I think the fantastic thing about Europe, for something like 24, is that it’s very feasible to get from Prague to London in the course of a day,” he commented.
Normally you can’t believe what Digital Spy says, but since they also have video of Sutherland saying just that, I guess we can believe them this time.
So, Jack in Europe? Okay, but only if they drop him into France. Otherwise it would just be silly.
Below: “Pack up, gang — Euro trip!”

Jack Bauer is back, and he’s returning in style. A four-hour, two-day event starting in January 11, 2009 with a 2-hour premiere episode, and then continuing in January 12, 2009, with another 2-hour block. That’s four hours of Jack Bauer goodness for all you terrorist scumbags out there, so you better run now while you still have the chance. What more could you ask for in your January? This isn’t the first time that Jack and company has bowed with such an event-ish premiere; the show’s Season 6 also opened with a two-night, four-hour premiere, but seeing as how Season 6 wasn’t exactly the show’s highwater mark, let’s pretend I never mentioned that. Season 6? What Season 6?
THR says:
“Day Seven” opens with CTU dismantled and Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) on trial. Bauer’s day takes an unexpected turn when former colleague Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) returns after being presumed dead.
Oh, Tony. I bet Michelle would be so disappointed in you.

CTU fans rejoice. There’s a new and very nicely paced 2-minute trailer for 24’s upcoming seventh season that reveals a little bit more about the upcoming season’s plotlines. We now know that the events that will be taking place in the 24 movie, “Redemption” (scheduled to premiere as a standalone movie next month) will actually have ramifications well into the show’s seventh season. In particular, Tony Todd’s African dictator character will be coming to Washington to exact some payback from the female President’s interference in his attempted coup in his fictional African country.
Although it’s still not clear who Tony Almeida, who is very much alive, is actually working for as he tries to crash some planes on the show, my money is on Jon Voight’s international arms dealer character, who also has a bit of a grudge against ol Jack. But then again, who doesn’t?
“24: Redemption” premieres in November, followed by Season 7 of 24 the TV show in [...]

New batch of images from Jack Bauer’s latest adventures in Africa in the 24 TV movie “24: Redemption” (formerly Exile). As you can tell from these images, Jack Bauer has gone all grizzled and what have you, but that won’t stop him from expertly handling a gun like a fat kid diving at a table with cake on it, and let me tell you, you don’t want to get between a fat kid and cake. Same with Jack Bauer and automatic weapons. Jon Cassar directs the movie, which hits airwaves on November 23, 2008, and sets up the seventh season of 24 the TV show. The DVD will get released the following week.
And in case you missed it, a longer version of the trailer was posted here.

So is it called “Redemption” or “Exile”? The original title for the 24 movie coming in November was “Exile”, but then I got a press release from FOX calling it “Redemption” for the DVD release. Who knows. What we do know is that Jack Bauer is back in a 2-hour movie this November, which will introduce a new bad guy played by Jon Voight, an arms dealer with ties to powerful people, including the new female President? Maybe. Or at least, he’s got powerful enough connections that he gets to attend her historical inauguration. A new, longer trailer for the movie has shown up, including some SPOILERS.
SPOILERS courtesy of E! Online:
Jack is in [the fictional African country] Sangala working at a school run by Carl Benton (Robert Carlyle) a friend of Jack’s from when he was in Special Forces. This works out well, because when Juma’s henchman Col. Dubaku (Hakeem Kae-Kazim) comes looking for the kids it means Benton has [...]
