For the second straight week, the Nicolas Cage sequel “National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets” reign supreme over the U.S. box office, pulling in an additional $35 million in its second week for a total take of $124 million in two weeks of release. The other big surprise is “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, which once again came in second in its third week for a total of $142 million.
Will Smith’s “I am Legend” continued its strong run, landing at #3 with $27 million ($194 in three weeks of release), while Tom Hanks’ “Charlie Wilson’s War” is falling by the wayside like every other war movie, barely scraping #4 with $11 million for a total of $34 million in two weeks of release.
The Ellen Page teen drama “Juno” rounds out the Top 5 spot at #5 with $10 million for a 4 week take of $25 million.
The week’s new release, the sci-fi sequel “Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem” didn’t do so [...]

I know most people don’t have a whole lot of good things to say about Paul W.S. Anderson’s original “Aliens vs. Predator”, but I’m not one of them. Sure, it could have been better, of course, you could say that about 99% of all the movies out there. But it wasn’t, and it was good enough. It gave you what you went to it for — Aliens fighting Predators. Seriously, who expected more? If you did, then it’s your fault you were disappointed. For God’s sake, it’s a movie called Aliens vs. Predator! What were you hoping for, something on the scale of “Citizen Kane”? But I digress.
The latest “Aliens vs. Predator” is opening late December, and another batch of stills have arrived in my mailbox. Enjoy.

Now here’s something to get excited about (don’t get me started on that “Wanted” trailer again, gah, what a waste). It’s a 90-second clip from the upcoming “Aliens vs. Predator 2: Requiem”, featuring a Predator slicing and dicing his way through some Aliens in a store full of human survivors. The clip is Rated R (Red Band), and features a couple of head-shot explosions and gory acid splash. What Alien movie would be complete without acid splash? It’s a brief clip, but it does show you that they’re going hard-core with this thing, so expect a good time if you like the red stuff, kids.
When a Predator scout ship crash lands in a Colorado town, the Aliens on board escape and kill all the Predators except one. The last remaining Predator must now destroy all the Aliens as well as the horrific Pred-Alien that was spawned in the first AVP. Meanwhile, the townspeople are helplessly caught in the middle of [...]

You know, for some reason I’m very excited to see “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem”, the sequel to Paul W.S. Anderson’s “AVP” from a few years ago. I don’t really know why. Sure, I’m a fan of both the Predator and Alien franchises, but I really wasn’t all that satisfied with the first AVP. (If you know my history with Paul W.S. Anderson films, you wouldn’t be surprise to hear that.) The sequel promises a lot more action and, as the title implies, a lot more aliens and predators going at it. And yes, it’ll also showcase the first Predator/Alien hybrid — the Predalian! Or maybe they’ll call it something else, I don’t know. In any case, USAToday has done a First Look feature on the movie and they’ve included a picture of the Predalian (thumbnail to your left, bigger version below).

It’s funny, but I just always assumed that the movie poster for “Aliens vs. Predator 2: Requiem” was already out somewhere, but apparently not, because I don’t recall ever having posted one. But hey, nevermind that, because one is here now (check out the thumb to your left and a bigger version below). The poster comes courtesy of the fine folks over at Joblo.com, and where they got it, well, who cares, right? It’s here, it’s now, and it looks pretty snazzy. I mean, it’s not mind-blowing or anything, but it does get the point across. Mean Predators versus mean Aliens. What else do you want?

So you’ve been dying to see the Predator homeworld, huh? (Well, aren’t you?) Then you might just get your chance with the upcoming “Aliens vs. Predators 2: Requiem”, which promises to take a little visit to the Predator homeworld either before or after the action on Earth as depicted in the film. The boys over at ShockTilYouDrop got a scoop from an anonymous source who telephoned them (really? I didn’t know scoopers actually did this. Hmm…) and filled them in on the good news. That is, if you’ve always wanted to see the Predator homeworld. Well, have you or haven’t you?
Anyhoo:
Says our source, the Strause brothers – who have already impressed the hell out of us with an action-packed trailer loaded with grue – will give fans a long-awaited look at the home world of the Predator species.
So there you go. Excited yet?
Then how about this image from MTV featuring an Alien battling a Predator in the rain:

Just a couple of days after the first image from “Aliens vs. Predator 2: Requiem” was released to the masses, the trailer (and a RED BAND TRAILER at that!) has appeared online (head down below to view it if you can’t wait), once again courtesy of IGN Movies. Yes, you can now check out the first footages from the movie, including plenty of alien guts splattering, Predator flying shuriken thingie slicing, and some guy saying the “F” word to an Alien. Fun times, fun times! Also, it appears as if Reiko Aylesworth’s character is being set up as a sort of Ellen Ripley imitation. If not, then that M60 mounting in the rain scene sure looks like Ellen Ripley would do.

The first image from the upcoming “Alien vs. Predator 2: Requiem” has arrived (via), and it shows a picture (thumbnail to your left, bigger version below) of a Predator going toe-to-toe with what looks like an Alien/Predator hybrid while both are drenched in the rain. I don’t know, unless there are more to the hybrid, it sure doesn’t look all that fearsome. Isn’t it supposed to look tougher than both the Aliens and the Predators? Oh well, it’s just a single still, maybe the rest of it will look better. I still have hopes for this movie, even though I get the feeling no one else does.
The sequel stars Reiko Aylesworth, Steven Pasquale, Gina Holden, David Hornsby, Johnny Lewis, and is due out December 25th, 2007. Yum, just in time for Christmas dinner.
The image actually reminds me of that Batman vs. Predator vs. Alien short film from a while ago, actually…

“Alien vs. Predator 2″ has been shooting for a while now, and apparently it’s getting ready to come out, because a trailer has shown up. Well, not the actual trailer, but a description of the trailer has landed at Joblo.com (you can read the trailer description below). Meanwhile, word is that the title has been changed from “Aliens Vs. Predators” to “AVP: Requiem”, which is kind of stupid, but hey, whatever floats their boat. Other sites have done some legwork and all but confirmed the title change, not that it matters. This isn’t exactly a highly-anticipated sequel. It should do well, but it’s no blockbuster in the making.
Here’s a description of the trailer:
It starts with: “˜In space…’Then a shot of what looks like a Predator spaceship on fire, flying towards earth. Then: “˜No one can here you scream’. Then shows the spaceship crashing on earth with the words: “˜On earth, it won’t matter’.

(Article by Robert Lewis) One night stands are never good. You can always expect to wake up the next morning to either: a.) an itching sensation in your crotch — a cluster of ugly blisters and a foul-smelling discharge will soon follow — or in the case of Katherine Heigl’s character in Knocked Up, b.) the discovery that you’ve got a bun baking in the old gut oven.
Ever wonder what the outcome of a night of drunken debauchery between the solider-skinning “Predator” from John McTierian’s Predator and the Ripley-attacking “Alien” from Ridley’s Scott’s Alien (one word titled films are the best!) would look like? Well fanboys…get ready to rejoice! Arrow in the Head scored some exclusive concept pics from the remarkable sculptors at 3D Custom Foam Inc. featuring a detailed mold of an Alien/Predator hybrid that they’re conjuring up for Fox for the upcoming AVP2 (that’s Alien Vs.
