A gaggle of new movie promos added to their respective movie galleries in the last few weeks that we didn’t see fit to tell you about until now. Why? Because that’s just how we roll. The newbies include: more of Marky Mark noir posing in “Max Payne”, Jennifer Carpenter’s horror remake aka zombies in an apartment complex movie “Quarantine”, George Bush being all George Bushy in Oliver Stone’s “W.”, early promos from the Notorious B.I.G. biopic “Notorious”, more from Russell Crowe and Leo in “Body of Lies”, some more looks at Daniel Craig’s “other” big movie of 2008 “Defiance”, and just in case you haven’t gotten enough eyefuls of “Eagle Eye” yet, there are more pics in that movie gallery, too.

Haven’t gotten enough of watching Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan running from mysterious men with nefarious intentions and sure-to-be thick-headed FBI agents led by Billy Bob Thornton yet? Well you’re in luck. We have a new batch of “Eagle Eye” images featuring, of course, more of Shia and Michelle fleeing mysterious bad guys and clunkerheads Billy Bob and his Air Force assistant (or is that partner?) Rosario Dawson.
A young slacker (Shia LaBeouf) and a single mom (Michelle Monaghan) are forced to become involved in a terrorist cell plotting a political assassination; meanwhile, the FBI (led by Billy Bob Thornton), believing the two are involved, are chasing them.
Starring Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson, Billy Bob Thornton, Ethan Embry, Eric Christian Olsen, Michael Chiklis, Anthony Mackie, and Madylin Sweeten. D.J. Caruso (”Disturbia”) directs.
Eyes forward September 26.

I have to say, Shia LaBeouf’s “Eagle Eye” has the makings of a sleeper hit in 2008. Much like another LaBeouf-D.J. Caruso collaboration, last year’s “Disturbia” surprised everyone by making a lot of money when no one really expected it to. Of course, Shia’s fanbase will be in a bit of a shock when they see their leading man unexpectedly playing a — gulp! — adult male character. We shall see how the kids react, but I’m already liking everything I’ve seen from the movie, including these new batch of images.

Yeah, sorry about the headline for this post. It’s the best I can do. But I digress. Joblo.com has the first real poster for Shia LaBeouf’s upcoming terrorist thriller “Eagle Eye”. In the film, the former tyke stars as an actual grown-up (you know, with facial hair and junk) who gets roped into a terrorist plot. If that wasn’t bad enough, Billy Bob Thornton, in full idiot fed mode, is after his ass. On the plus side, he gets to hang out a lot with Michelle Monaghan, who is kind of purty in a purty kind of way.

Sharpen them eagle eyes September 26.

D.J. Caruso’s “Eagle Eye” has the makings of a pretty damn good thriller. It certainly looks good from the first two trailers we’ve seen of it, including this latest one, which finally shows Michelle Monaghan’s Rachel character, a single mom who, like LaBeouf’s young slacker, is roped into some bad things by some anonymous terrorist types who calls them over the phone. Billy Bob Thornton is still playing the clueless fed who has to figure out what’s going on — basically, he’ll do that for the entire movie, until the VOILA! moment where he finally “gets” it, ala every action movie with clueless feds since “Die Hard”.
A young slacker and a single mom get tangled up in a terrorist cell plotting a political assassination.
D.J. Caruso directs from a script by John Glenn, Travis Wright, Hillary Seitz, and Dan McDermott. Catch an eyeful September 26.

Shia LaBeouf’s stab at an adult movie role finally lands online via a teaser trailer for “Eagle Eye”, an action-thriller that sees LaBeouf playing a young slacker (look, he’s unshaven, the slacker!) who is framed by some nefarious folks as a terrorist, and now the FBI, led by Billy Bob Thornton, is after him. The teaser does a great job of showing LaBeouf’s predicament, and in fact it kinda reminds me a bit of the early parts of “The Matrix”. We don’t see anything with Michelle Monaghan, though, but I’m sure they’re saving her plot for another teaser or maybe an official trailer.
Here’s a very revealing description of the plot from IMDB.com, which has a number of things I hadn’t known before, including the whole twin angle:
Shia Labeouf reteams with “Disturbia” director D.J. Caruso playing a young slacker whose twin brother has died mysteriously. Rachel (Monaghan) finds that her child is missing, and soon the two strangers realize that they [...]

A longtime reader just sent me what looks like the very first image from the upcoming terrorist thriller “Eagle Eye”, which stars Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan as a teen and a single mom, respectively, who become caught up in a terrorist plot to kill a political figure in America. To make matters worst, they themselves are framed as terrorists, and are being pursued by the clueless authorities. The film also co-stars Rosario Dawson, Anthony Azizi, Billy Bob Thornton, and is directed by D.J. Caruso, who directed LaBeouf to mega stardom in last year’s sleeper hit “Disturbia”.
“Eagle Eye” is expected out September 26th, 2008.
First look at the film below.

Shia LaBeouf has found himself himself a shotgun and is ready for action in these first look pictures of the movie “Eagle Eye”, a political/terrorism thriller starring Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan as two wrongly framed Americans believed to be terrorists. Or something like that. I have to admit, young Mister Shia is looking pretty hardcore in these pictures, and I’ve always liked the premise of the movie to begin with.
Starring Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson, Anthony Azizi, Billy Bob Thornton, and directed by D.J. Caruso, who last helmed LaBeouf in the surprise hit “Disturbia”.

Yes, that’s right, another movie about the War on Terror and how shitty it’s all going from Hollywood. This time it’s D.J. Caruso’s “Eagle Eye”, which, according to Movie Hole has nabbed a big name in Billy Bob Thornon, who may or may not be playing one of the agents (the other being Rosario Dawson) who pursues Shia LaBeouf (playing a slacker) and Michelle Monaghan (playing a single mom), two non-terrorists mistaken for being involved in an assassination plot by some terrorist scumbags. The whole thing is supposedly based on an idea by Steven Spielberg, so I guess it should be good. Right? Um, I don’t know, but I’m guessing that if Spielberg has an idea for a movie and he wants someone to make it, then by God someone is going to make it — good or bad.
Billy Bob Thornton was last seen starring in comedies that no one has seen, including “Waking Up in Reno”, “School for Scoundrels” [...]

After losing out on the Wolverine movie, it looks like director D.J. Caruso isn’t spending his days crying over it. He’s already moving on with the earlier announced terrorism-themed thriller “Eagle Eye”, to star his “Disturbia” muse Shia LaBeouf. Now Caruso can add Michelle Monaghan to his cast. Monaghan was last seen pretending to be in love with Tom Cruise in the third “Mission Impossible” installment and can be seen in the upcoming “Gone Baby Gone”, the directorial debut of Ben Affleck.
Via Variety:
Monaghan plays a single mother who forms an unlikely alliance with LaBeouf as they are framed as terrorists and are forced to join a cell plotting a political assassination. Hillary Seitz wrote the most recent draft. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Pat Crowley and Ed McDonnell are producing.
Paramount will distribute the film worldwide.

There are only two names I wish I could go a day without hearing about — Shia LaBeouf and Gerard Butler. Nothing personal against these two guys, but it’s just ridiculous how they’re attached to just about everything under the sun, all because of a couple of big movies under their belt. Or, in Butler’s face, one movie, while LaBeouf has been carrying around the “It” boy tag for the last couple of years despite not having done anything of note since the recent “Disturbia”.
Speaking of which, “Disturbia’s” shocking success has paved the way for its director D.J. Caruso to sign on to direct “Eagle Eye”, with Shia LaBeouf in talks to star.
The plot revolves around a twentysomething slacker and a single mother who are framed as terrorists and forced to become members of a cell with plans to carry out a political assassination.
