Got an email from a reader who pointed me to this article on Blackvoices.com regarding John Singleton, who was scheduled to direct a sci-fi thriller called “Executive Order: Six”, and was rumored to be the front runner for “The A-Team” big-screen remake. According to the site, they quote Singleton as saying that he has in fact signed on to direct “The A-Team”, and has dropped “Six” as a result.
More:
While promoting the DVD release of ‘Illegal Tender’, in which he produced, and coming out on Dec.18, John Singleton has confirmed what LatinoReview.com had posted earlier; that he will be directing a big screen version of TV series, ‘The A-Team’.
At the same time, he also confirmed that he will NOT be directing ‘Executive Order: Six’ as previously reported by trade outlets.
Why would John Singleton trade a no-name sci-fi movie for a surefire hit like “The A-Team”? Oh, I don’t know, maybe because he’s not an idiot?

John Singleton was supposed to direct a lot of movies lately, including “Luke Cage” with Tyrese Gibson and “Tulia” with Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry. Both projects have been scrapped, with “Cage” never having gotten off the ground, and “Tulia” sidelined when Berry became preggers. Now Singleton is setting his sights on “Executive Order: Six”, an original script that sees Singleton, who burst onto the scene with the indie drama “Boyz in the Hood”, tackle his first science fiction/action movie. Good luck, brother.
More about “Executive Order: Six’s” plot:
Philip Eisner’s script, based on a story he wrote with Robbie Consing, follows the residents of a small, snowbound town, who band together to fight a mysterious horror that turns out to be an alien being unleashed by a plane crash.
Lawrence Bender and Karen Barber will produce.
Man, it sure sucks living in snow-covered towns, huh? First vampires attack a small Alaskan town covered in snow in “30 Days of Nights”, then Kate [...]
