From the looks of it, it appears the makers of “Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds” have decided to cast aside the suspense and thriller aspect of the first movie (set in a claustrophobic bar in the middle of nowhere at night, which made it the perfect spot for creatures to pick off the patrons) in favor of a decapitation-a-second action movie set, inexplicably, in the middle of the day. Hmm, not sure if that’s a wise decision; whoever heard of a movie about monsters set in the daytime? But hey, maybe I’m wrong, and the final movie will actually look a lot better than this trailer for “Feast 2″. Then again, why does the trailer for “Feast 2″ look like something I shot in my backyard with my buds from middle school on a $10 budget? You decide.

If I had to read between the lines based on these promo images from the upcoming “Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds”, I would have to say that the filmmakers are trying to tell me this thing is going to be bloody. Funny. And at the same time, terrifying. Okay, maybe not so much the last part. After all, in one picture two guys in rubber suits are attacking a midget on the streets in broad daylight. How “terrifying” can that be? Funny and bloody, yes, but terrifying? Probably not so much. Anyhoo, fresh images from the upcoming horror sequel below.

I am a big fan of the first “Feast”, a horror gem born out of the stillborn TV show that was Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Project: Greenlight. Pretty much every movie critic who gets paid to critique movies hated it, but ask anyone else, and they thought it was a pretty entertaining little flick, with some great comedy and genre-blasting twists and turns. So when I heard they were planning not one, but two sequels (to be shot back-to-back, as is the trend nowadays), I was happy as a little clam. Now, Fangoria has your first look at the “Feast 2″ via a trip to the set. So where’s my invitation, “Feast” guys?
More:
Written by original FEAST scripters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton and produced by Mike Leahy of Neo Art & Logic, the sequel features FX by returning creature creator Gary Tunnicliffe and Glenn Hetrick of Optic Nerve, with production design by Ermanno (PULSE) Di Febo-Orsini.
Besides getting a groovy and appropriately icky title of “Sloppy Seconds”, the upcoming “Feast” sequel (which will be shot back-to-back with part 3, as, once again, the fashion nowadays with direct-to-DVD franchises) will apparently be bringing back the survivors of the first film, with the sequel taking place immediately after the events of the first. The guys over at Bloody-Disgusting reveals even more plot details, including how the action will now shift to a small town, where the surviving townspeople will have to band together (like in the first movie) to survive the onslaught of nasty creatures trying to munch on their bones because, as well all know, humans taste just like chicken.
More from BD:
It is the morning after, and we pick up with the survivors of FEAST’s terrifying night before. There are more monsters and they are even angrier/hungrier. The monsters have made it into the small neighboring town in the middle of nowhere and the surviving locals have [...]

I loved the first “Feast”. Sure, most mainstream film critics didn’t care for it, and I think someone I read (somewhere, sometime, I don’t remember) even gave it zero stars. Bah humbug! As a fan of the horror genre, I loved every second of it. Now here’s word that my prayers are being answered, and not one, but two sequels are on their way. True to form, the sequels will be churned out in the back-to-back variety, meaning they’ll probably be one movie chopped up into two. Hey, that’s okay. I just want to see more of this stuff!
The original was basically a tongue-in-cheek post-modern take on the Creature Feature genre, complete with characters named “Hero” and his wife, and title cards telling you exactly when each other will die a most miserable, bloody death. It was great fun, and I had a blast with it.
Here’s what writer Marcus Dunstan told Fangoria:
“FEAST 2 and 3 are coming together, with [director [...]
