Remember that scene from the first “Rambo”, then called “First Blood”, when Rambo is in that gas station or gun store (or some kind of store) in town, and Trautman (played by the great Richard Crenna) tells him to give it up, that it’s “over”, and Rambo immediately shouts back, “Nothing is over! Nothing!” Well, guys, it’s over, according to Stallone, who says there will be no more Rambo or Rocky sequels.
More:
“This is the last Rambo just as Rocky Balboa is the last Rocky,” Stallone told the Guardian. “I can’t go any further. It was a miracle that it even got done.”
Yeah, I gotta agree with him when it comes to “Rocky Balboa”. I just didn’t get the point of that movie. But the latest “Rambo” was kind of cool, and I wouldn’t mind seeing Rambo bring the pain to the American heartland.
“Rambo” was pure 80 minutes (if you don’t count the credits) of exploding bodies, decapitated heads, [...]

Sylvester Stallone’s latest attempt at career resuscitation comes to us in the form of “Rambo,” the fourth installment of the action series. The last time we saw John Rambo, he was busy helping the Taliban overthrow the Soviets. That sure worked out great. This time, Stallone takes us to the less incendiary geopolitical hotspot of Burma, where the ruling military junta has been waging a brutal 60 year civil conflict against the Karen ethnic group.
As the movie opens, we catch up to Rambo who now makes a living rustling snakes for a village sideshow in western Thailand. He’s sunk so low that when a missionary group led by the condescending Michael (Paul Schulze, ‘Journeyman’) asks for a ride up-river to Burma so that they can bring aid to the suffering, Rambo rejects him, scolding him for believing that he can make a difference. But after some pleading by pretty missionary Sarah (Julie Benz, ‘Dexter’), he [...]

Who says American moviegoers have no taste in movies? Oh right, the box office weekend over the weekend, where the unGodly awful looking “Meet the Spartans” took #1 in its weekend debut. “Spartans’” $18.7 million just barely edged out Sylvester Stallone’s “Rambo 4″, which came in second in its debut with $18.2 million.
Katherine Heigl’s romantic comedy “27 Dresses” dropped to #3 in its second week with a solid $13.6 million, while monster movie “Cloverfield” landed at #4 with $12 million, for a total take of $64 million in two weeks of release. Not bad for a monster movie in a country where monster movies are relegated to Saturday nights on the Sci Fi Channel.
Two other films opened over the weekend: Diane Lane’s FBI thriller “Untraceable” came in fifth place with $11.2 million, while the urban dance movie “How She Move” landed outside the Top 10 at #12 with $4 in its opening weekend.
But the year’s surprising hit still [...]

Stallone returns as the titular Rambo, who is now living in Northern Thailand when a group of human rights missionaries, including Julie Benz, search him out and ask him to guide them into Burma to deliver medical supplies. When the aid workers are captured by the Burmese army, it’s up to Rambo and a small band of professional mercenaries to rescue them.
Starring Sylvester Stallone, Julie Benz, James Brolin, Paul Schulze, Matthew Marsden, and directed by Stallone.

A couple of new posters for your viewing pleasure. The first is for the upcoming John Rambo movie (or whatever the heck they’ll end up calling it), and the other one is for the Jessica Alba horror remake of the Pang Brothers’ “The Eye”. The Rambo one is really weird (thumbnail to your left), I don’t know rather to throw spoil fruit on it or frame it; but the one for “The Eye” is really creepy in a, “Man, that’s just not right” kind of creepy. I mean, come on, it’s a hand coming out of someone’s eye. Poor Jessica Alba’s eye, probably. Now that’s just gross, man.

A couple of new trailers have hit the net — one for Rambo’s latest outing, “John Rambo” (or “Rambo to Hell and Back” or whatever it’s called now), and the other for Will Smith’s “I am Legend”. The Rambo one is below. It’s less violent than the previous ones we’ve seen, no splattering body parts and no intestines flopping all over the place. The “I am Legend” one I really like. I was a little bit worried that they might be moving away from the original novel, but Smith is playing Neville as such a desperate paranoid that I think there is a good chance they may (and I stress this, may) go with the novel’s original ending. I wouldn’t put money on it, but they may… One thin you can count on — they’re showing the vampires in this new trailer, and they look like, um, mole people?
A few days ago there were rumors that Lionsgate had changed the title of the latest John Rambo adventure from the plain sounding “John Rambo” to “Rambo to Hell and Back”, but this latest poster for the movie doesn’t actually confirm that. In fact, it actually just says “Rambo”, with Stallone’s name above the title font. So what does this mean? Is it “John Rambo”, “Rambo to Hell and Back”, or is it just “Rambo”? Personally I think it might be best to just go with the simple title of “Rambo”. It gets the point across: It’s a Rambo movie. Nuff said. In any case, here’s the poster (thumbnail to your left and bigger version below).

Wow, and I thought calling the movie “John Rambo” was pretty awful already, but now it sounds like Lionsgate is actually thinking about calling the latest Rambo installment the Godawful sounding, “Rambo to Hell and Back”. The change in title news (rumor?) comes courtesy of Moviehole. They’ve always been right about their movie news, so I wouldn’t bet against them. Although I did check the Lionsgate site, and there was no mention of the title change. Well actually, there’s no mention of “John Rambo” on the entire site, so who knows.
The next chapter finds Rambo recruited by a group of Christian human rights missionaries to protect them against pirates, during a humanitarian aid deliver to the persecuted Karen people of Burma. After some of the missionaries are taken prisoner by sadistic Burmese soldiers, Rambo gets a second impossible job: to assemble a team of mercenaries to rescue the surviving relief workers.

Via the fellas over at Obsessed with Film, a movie poster for Sylvester Stallone’s “John Rambo”, the latest installment in the never-say-die Rambo franchise, has arrived online. OWF doesn’t know if it’s the real thing or not, but hey, it looks real to me, so we’ll just go with that. (Check out the poster in thumbnail form to your left and a bigger version below.) In “John Rambo”, Rambo comes out of retirement to kill lots and lots of bad people. Well they’d have to be bad, wouldn’t they, since, if the trailers are any indication, Rambo is going to be opening a can of bloody whup-ass on them. I mean, damn, the dude decapitates people with his famous knife, literally blasts some baddies into thousands of bloody chunks with an M60 machine gun, and does all manner of brutality to them. God, I hope I never piss off John Rambo.
Here’s a long and very thorough plot synopsis written by [...]

John Rambo, aka Sylvester Stallone is back, and he looks madder and more pissed than usual. Plus, he still has that big ass hunting knife of his, so don’t go around messing with him. You know, like abducting the Christian chick he was so crushing on when she visited him before heading off on her mission to feed the poor, save the orphans, or something goodie goodie like that. But that’s exactly what happens, and now John Rambo, long tired from killing (and apparently now working as a blacksmith and fisherman?), just ain’t gonna take it. Conclusion: The John Rambo folks have released a new and even MORE violent trailer (scroll down below to see it).
Here’s a really long outline for the film from a Rambo fan on IDMB.com:
Vietnam veteran John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) has survived many harrowing ordeals in his lifetime and has since withdrawn into a simple and secluded existence in Bangkok, where he spends his time salvaging [...]

Two new stills from Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming gore-action-fest “John Rambo” (I’m guessing much of the gore will be left for the Unrated DVD) have surfaced here. The first picture is a scene from the movie, showing Rambo fishing with a bow and arrow. Nice. The second one has Rambo goofing around with a snake. I’m guessing this one’s from behind-the-scenes, judging by the way Rambo’s face is contorted…weirdly. Then again, that could just be how Stallone looks nowadays. Please to enjoy.

And hey, it should work. Watch John Rambo spurn the advances of Julie Benz; watch John Rambo cut a man’s guts out; watch John Rambo machinegun a poor bastard into little bits and pieces; then watch John Rambo sneak up behind a man and chop his head off with a knife. No, really, all those things actually happens in this clip. Yup, it’s basically John Rambo going all “Saving Private Ryan” on some Burmese military scum. I’m sure most of these footage won’t make it into the final trailer, which should look something like this, minus, you know, all the blood and (literally) guts. Good stuff!
