What happens when God gets tired of us lowly humans and decide to start over? Well nothing good, that’s for sure. Here are three new images from Scott Stewart’s upcoming horror-action movie “Legion”, starring Paul Bettany as an archangel who voluntarily falls to Earth to save the savior of mankind. Unfortunately said savior hasn’t been born yet, and his mom is a diner waitress played by Adrianne Palicki. Luckily for our warrior angel, the diner also has some battling humans to lend a hand, including Dennis Quaid, Charles S. Dutton, Tyrese Gibson, and Lucas Black. He’ll need them too, when they’re surrounded by angels.
God strikes back January 22, 2010.

The last time we posted a trailer for Paul Bettany’s “Legion”, it was a 5-minute long Red Band trailer, complete with gratuitous Grandma Cussing, assloads of action, deaths, and blood splattering, and it got tongues wagging. In fact, I think they’re still wagging over there. Here’s the G-rated trailer approved for all ages, so if you weren’t keen on the Red Band-ness of the previous trailer, this one should be more accommodating to your sensitive eyes and ears. It’s basically the same trailer, except shorter (two and a half minutes long) and minus the fun stuff.
In the supernatural action thriller Legion, an out-of-the-way diner becomes the unlikely battleground for the survival of the human race. When God loses faith in Mankind, he sends his legion of angels to bring on the Apocalypse. Humanity’s only hope lies in a group of strangers trapped in a desert diner and the Archangel Michael (Paul Bettany). Legion also stars Dennis Quaid, Lucas Black, Tyrese [...]

Scott Stewart’s “Legion” went into Comic-Con ‘09 as a mostly unnoticed film, but I think it came out getting a little bit more attention and respect. Deservedly so, in my opinion, if you’re into the genre. This looks like a classic last stand in a haunted house movie, except the haunted house is a diner in the middle of nowhere, and the monsters are warmongering angels. The filmmakers called it “Angels with Machine Guns” and I think you’ll agree, they weren’t kidding. Check out the 5-minute Red Band trailer for “Legion” that was shown at this year’s Comic-Con below.
After a terrifying biblical apocalypse descends upon the world, a group of strangers stranded in a remote truck stop diner in the Southwest unwittingly become humanity’s last line of defense when they discover the diner’s young waitress is pregnant with the messiah.
Starring Dennis Quaid, Paul Bettany, Kevin Durand, Doug Jones, Kate Walsh, Lucas Black, Tyrese Gibson, Adrianne Palicki, Willa Holland, and Charles [...]

It’s like the “Terminator” crossed with something John Carpenter would have done in the late ’70s and ’80s ala movies like “The Thing” and “Prince of Darkness”. That’s the best way to describe Paul Bettany’s upcoming “Legion”, a horror/action movie that the actor admits he sought out because it allowed him to play an action hero for the first time in his career.
The “Legion” panel was part of Sony’s presence at Comic-Con ‘09 (the other being the Peter Jackson-produced “District 9″), and the film brought out stars Paul Bettany, Doug Jones, Tyrese Gibson, and Adrianne Palicki, along with writer/director Scott Stewart to show off their wares.
Stewart brought along an extended trailer for the movie, the first ever footage of “Legion” anywhere. As Stewart mentions later, the trailer took more than a little inspiration from James Cameron’s first “Terminator” movie.
The clip introduces us to Michael, an Arcangel that has literally fallen from the Heavens in order to stop the [...]

Paul Bettany’s “Legion” is flying under the radar right now, but it’s not flying under my radar. This is easily one of my most anticipated movies of 2010, and the one panel at Comic Con I will do everything in my power to attend, if just to see something from this movie. What can I say, I just dig the whole concept behind it. Plus, Paul Bettany is fronting the flick as a badass arc angel armed with a knife and a machinegun. And wings. Don’t forget about the wings. How could something like that not be totally badass?
Anyways, all that is a long-winded way to say that the guys over at MaximumPC snuck their way into the San Diego Convention Center where Comic Con will be held in mere days and snapped some pictures. Thanks to reader J. Mack, who recognized my enthusiasm for “Legion” and sent me the heads up. Dude, you rock.
In the film, Bettany will [...]

Scott Stewart’s directorial debut, the fantastic sounding “Legion”, has just gotten mucho crowded. The film, which stars Paul Bettany (aka Mr. Jennifer Connelly) as a fallen archangel who tries to save mankind from imminent destruction, has added a gaggle of potential saviors of mankind to its cast. Dennis Quaid (pictured, left), Tyrese Gibson, Jon Tenney, Charles S. Dutton, Lucas Black, Kate Walsh, Adrianne Palicki, Kevin Durand and Willa Holland are all signing up to save the world, or die trying. Well, they’d have to die if they failed, right?
More:
Scripted by Stewart and Peter Schink, the thriller casts Bettany as the archangel Michael, the only one standing between mankind and an apocalypse, after God loses faith in humanity. Man’s lone hope rests with a group of strangers who must deliver a baby they realize is Christ in his second coming.
This is the kind of movie right up my alley. Anything that posits the end of the world, that throws in angels [...]

British actor Paul Bettany is probably the hardest working man in show business that no one has ever heard of. Well maybe that’ll change with his starring role in the upcoming “Legion”, which has God getting pissy and sending a troop of angels down to Earth to wipe out humankind. Luckily for us, the hardest working man in show business is there to stop them.
More:
Story follows what happens when God loses faith in humanity and sends his legion of angels to wipe out the human race for the second time. Mankind’s only hope lies in a group of misfits holed up in a diner in the desert who are aided by the archangel Michael (Bettany).
“Legion” will be directed by first-timer Scott Stewart, a former special effects man (he co-founded the special effects company the Orphanage), so you can probably expect a lot of really good special effects as angels clash and “misfits” run for cover.
Shooting commences in March in New [...]
