Unable to cope or come to terms with the genius of Uwe Boll, American movie theaters are banning together to limit the Uber German’s latest release, the movie adaptation of the videogame “Postal”. In a press release, Doctor Boll states that he had expected to put “Postal” out wide into 1500 theaters, but will not have to settle for a lousy four theaters across the great United States of America.
Kotaku has the Great Deutch’s press release:
Theatrical distributors are boycotting Postal because of its political content. We were prepared to open on 1500 screens all across America on May 23rd. Any multiplex in the U.S. should have space for us, but they’re afraid… We have even tried to buy a few screens in New York and Los Angeles, and they won’t let us even rent the theaters! I urge independent exhibitors to contact us and book ‘Postal’! Audiences have been expecting the film and I don’t think exhibitors should censor what [...]

I can’t be sure, but I’m pretty certain I’m developing something of a man crush on German director Uwe Boll. I used to hate the guy, like all of fandom, based on the fact that every one of his movies I’ve seen, I’ve hated. And of course, when all of fandom tells you that you should hate someone, being the sheep that I am, I of course “baaaaaaaah” along. But you know what? I don’t hate Uwe Boll anymore. In fact, I’m loving this guy, especially after this invitation to Michael Bay to meet him in the ring for the throwdown to end all throwdowns.
It all started when Boll responded to the infamous 1,000,000 petition to make him quit directing with this:

This got Michael Bay all atwittered, and he responded in a statement with:
“Can we stop talking about this guy! I never even heard his name till last week when he made threats and rants. The guy is a f*@#ing [...]

You can’t be a self-respecting fanboy out there in the Interwebs if you don’t proclaim your utter hatred and disdain for Uwe Boll and his movies, and to be sure, his movies are pretty reekish, but let’s face it, much of the hatred directed at this guy is just plain silly. For instance, how could you hate Uwe Boll when he’s this tongue-in-cheek about his own “genius”? Boll has done two interviews on TV that have completely turned around my opinions on him, and both were on Fox News’ late-night gabfest Red Eye (this thing comes on at 2:00 in the friggin’ morning where I live!). If you’ve never seen Red Eye, it’s one of those shows that you can believe is on Fox News. Thank God for insomnia.
The first wacky interview (Host: “You’ve become the go-to guy for movies based on videogames. Why?” Uwe Boll: “Money.” Hah!):

The second and more recent interview, where Uwe Boll proclaims the genius of [...]

You gotta give him credit, ol Uwe Boll has some serious balls hanging between those two German legs of his. While everyone and their momma is running away to avoid opening their movie opposite Spielberg and Lucas’ “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, Boll has taken the other path, and is opening his movie “Postal” against it in the same week. Yup. The man is either off his rockers, or he’s a marketing genius. You decide.
More:
“On the Indiana Jones weekend – May 23 – we will go out and destroy Indiana Jones in the box office!” the German director of House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark and In the Name of the King told the MovieSet website. “We all know that Harrison Ford is older then my grandpa and his time is up – as Michael Moore would say!”
The dude didn’t stop there. “It’s also a duel of two directors,” Boll added. “Spielberg gets sloppy. [...]

God Bless Uwe Boll. And of course by “God Bless” I mean “someone please stop this man from making movies”. Apparently the guys over at Wired.com feels the same way, because after their negative review of Uwe Boll’s “Postal” (”…Boll seems out to shock his audience into stunned disbelief rather than actually entertain them…”), Boll wrote in himself to defend his work. In short, Boll’s response is the same as his response to all criticism: “You suck. Your momma sucks. I kick you in the balls.” Okay, so maybe he didn’t say THAT exactly. Here’s what he really said…
your review shows me only that you dont understand anything about movies and that you are a untalented wanna bee filmmaker with no balls and no understanding what POSTAL is. you dont see courage because you are nothing. and no go to your mum and fuck her …because she cooks for you now since 30 years ..so she deserves it.
