Aussie director Greg Mclean probably didn’t think there was anything more dangerous than the crocs in his new movie “Rogue”. Of course, that was before he met the suits in Hollywood. What was supposed to be Mclean’s much-anticipated follow-up to his critical and commercial hit “Wolf Creek” ended up being a tangled mess of changed release dates, distribution entanglements, and Hollywood rickety muck, which is about three times more muckity than your average muck. (Hollywood never does anything small, God bless them, even when they’re drowning a movie on purpose.) And when Hollywood gets its muck into you, the crocs are the least of your worries. Mclean found that out when, after a year of nothing happening, the Weinstein Company summarily dumped his movies into a couple of unsuspecting theaters across America before sending it on its way to DVD shelves, where it would be forced to pick off the scraps of late-night movie renters.
Mclean’s “Rogue” stars Aussie Radha Mitchell [...]

Take a look at the latest poster for Greg McLean’s killer croc movie “Rogue”, and tell me this thing doesn’t have “Sci Fi Channel World Premiere” written all over it? I guess I was just expecting something more. Anyways, the film is scheduled for a limited release in the U.S. on April 25th, 2008, but like all movies purchased by the Weinstein Company for domestic consumption, the film has sat on the shelves until now. Via Third Rail Releasing, the Weinsteins will finally release the film into theaters, where it will no doubt quickly disappear, only to re-appear again on DVD with a heavy (and much cheaper) advertising campaign.
An American travel writer working on a piece in the Australian outback puts him on the menu for an oversized crocodile who stalks the scribe on a river cruise.
Starring Radha Mitchell, Sam Worthington, Stephen Curry, John Jarratt, Mia Wasikoska, and directed by Greg McLean.
The film will be released on April 25th [...]

The official poster for Australian film director Greg McLean’s crocodile film “Rogue” has surface. Get it? Surfaced? It’s a movie about a crocodile that swims? Oh man, I kill me. But I digress. For a while there, it looked like “Rogue” was going to get the direct-to-DVD treatment, but smarter heads have prevailed, and the film will indeed get a theatrical run in the States before making its way to DVD shelves everywhere. The film stars Aussie Radha Mitchell and American Michael Vartan battling a killer croc. Where’s Crocodile Dundee when you need him…

(Article by Robert Lewis) Those gross folks over at Fangoria scored an exclusive trailer for Dimension Extreme’s upcoming killer crocodile jamboree, Rogue. Written and directed by the talented Greg McLean (who terrorized audiences in 2005 with his outback massacre Wolf Creek), the film follows the unfortunate occupants of a stranded wildlife cruise boat as they struggle to contend with the dangers of the Australian wilderness — in particular an insanely large, man-eating crocodile.
Silent Hill’s Radha Mitchell, Alias’ Michael Vartan and the Australian John Jarratt top-line the cast of this yet-to-be-scheduled-for-release film. Let the chomping begin NOW, will you?!

I had heard that Australian filmmaker Greg McLean’s “Rogue”, the follow-up to his graphic true-life serial killer movie “Wolf Creek”, was going direct to DVD in the States, but that seems to have been premature. The film, about a killer croc, was in danger of being torpedoed by the box office shlacking of the similarly themed “Primeval”, also about a killer croc, although sold (falsely) as a serial killer movie. While a release date for McLean’s croc movie seems up in the air, IMDB does list it as opening October 2007.
Here’s a rather lengthy description via Imdb.com:
