While attending the screening of his directorial debut “The Hungry Ghosts” in New York City, someone armed with an entertainment blog had the balls to ask “The Sopranos” veteran Michael Imperioli about the rumors surrounding a possible big-screen version of the popular HBO series. His answer, of course, was a resounding “No.” Of course, this mean absolutely nothing, as things change at the drop of a hat deep within the heart of the Great Hollywood Money Machine. The thing that bothers me the most about this particular piece of fleeting entertainment news isn’t the fact that the movie isn’t going to happen — it’s the fact that someone felt the need to inquire about “The Sopranos” when Imperioli was there to promote a completely unrelated project. Heaven forbid they ask questions that actually pertain to “The Hungry Ghosts.”
Here’s an idea: When you’re hired to cover a movie for a reputable magazine, it might be in your best interest to focus [...]

Will there ever be a Sopranos movie? Probably, if there’s money to be made, HBO will probably find a way to do it, but first they’ll have to convince creator David Chase, who, judging by the Sopranos series finale, isn’t all that concern with commercial ventures and what have you. But wait, there is word that a Sopranos movie may in fact be in the works. Or at least that’s what this guy who knows that guy who heard it from that dude told someone else. Meaning, of course, that no one knows for sure, but everyone sure is hoping there is a movie.
More:
One Nick D’Urso, manager of the Satin Dolls strip club in North Jersey, which served as the infamous Bada Bing strip club in the show, says he received a call, possibly from HBO, telling him not to do any renovations to the club in lieu of an upcoming Sopranos movie.
And then there’s this:
HBO apparently had no comment [...]

Okay, so David Chase, just like his ending for the “Sopranos” series finale, left the option of doing a Sopranos movie wide open. In an interview with the Star-Ledger of Newark, his first and only interview since the Sopranos finale pissed off just about everyone who saw it (heck, I dropped off the show about 4 years ago, and even I was a little pissed), show creator/writer/director David Chase didn’t say he wouldn’t do a Sopranos movie to tie up all the loose ends, but he did say he didn’t see himself doing one. Sort of.
Okay, here’s what he really said:
“I don’t think about (a movie) much,” he told the paper. “I never say never. An idea could pop into my head where I would go, ‘Wow, that would make a great movie,’ but I doubt it.
“I’m not being coy,” he added. “If something appeared that really made a good ‘Sopranos’ movie and you could invest in it and everybody [...]
