We’ve got another handful of images of Jessica Alba, Alessandro Nivola, and Parker Posey from the Hollywood remake of the Chinese horror movie “The Eye”. Yes, even more shots of Jessica Alba looking distraught and yet, strangely hot at the same time. Will the movie be any good? Will all the reshoots to “amp up the scares” help or hinder its mood? I guess we’ll just have to see for ourselves.
The film is directed by Frenchmen David Moreau Xavier Palud and opens February 1st, 2008, and has Alba playing a blind violinist who gets a cornea transplant that allows her to see again. The catch? She sees nothing but ghosts! Man, don’t you just hate it when that happens? I know I do.

A couple of observations about these new group of images from Jessica Alba’s remake of the Pang Brothers’ “The Eye”: 1) One picture shows Alba walking by a bus, which makes me think the filmmakers may be brave enough to repeat the original movie’s ending; and 2) What is the deal with Alba screaming into the oven?
Sydney Wells is an accomplished concert violinist who has been blind since a childhood tragedy. Sydney undergoes a double corneal transplant, and her sight is restored. But Sydney’s happiness is short-lived as unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her. Are they a passing aftermath of her surgery, Sydney’s mind adjusting to sight, a product of her imagination, or something horrifyingly real? As Sydney’s family and friends begin to doubt her sanity, Sydney is soon convinced that her anonymous eye donor has somehow opened the door to a terrifying world only she can now see.
Starring Jessica Alba, Alessandro Nivola, Parker Posey, Chloe [...]

I am interested in seeing Jessica Alba’s “The Eye”, but probably not for the same reasons you are. I want to see how Alba does when she’s required to carry a movie all by herself, because “The Eye” is a movie where she is, without a doubt, the main center of attention from beginning to end, and there will be looooooong stretches where she’s required to command the screen.
In this performance, I believe, we will see if Alba has what it takes to actually make a career out of acting, instead of just being a movie star. There is a difference.
The remake of the Hong Kong film “Jian Gui”, a woman who receives an eye transplant that allows her to see into the supernatural world.

Here’s another look at the horror movie “The Eye”, starring Jessica Alba as a blind woman who gets a cornea transplant that allows her to see again. The catch: those eyes belonged to someone else, someone who was haunted by ghosts because — gasp! — she could see them! And now poor Jessica can see them, too! Run, Jessica, run! Anyways. Here’s the latest trailer for “The Eye” remake.
The more I see the trailer, the more I think the filmmakers are going to keep the original film’s ending, which would be pretty brave of them. If you’ve seen the Pang Brothers original, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Face the evil eye February 1st, 2008.

I know a lot of people out there love Jessica Alba, and I can only surmise it must be because the girl has a nice ass on her and doesn’t look all that shabby in a two-piece bikini. (Am I the only one who saw “Into the Blue” for the story? For shame!) But you gotta admit — the girl can’t act to save her life. So yeah, I’m looking forward to Alba’s remake of the Pang Brothers’ “The Eye” horror movie, only because it’s going to be worth a couple of chuckles to see Alba attempt to play moody and scared shitless, two states of being the character will be put through often throughout the movie. It’s gonna be funny, come on, you gotta admit that!
Anyhoo. Here’s the plot:
Sydney Wells (Jessica Alba) is an accomplished, independent, Los Angeles-based concert violinist. She is also blind, and has been so since a childhood tragedy. As our story opens, Sydney undergoes a [...]

A couple of new posters for your viewing pleasure. The first is for the upcoming John Rambo movie (or whatever the heck they’ll end up calling it), and the other one is for the Jessica Alba horror remake of the Pang Brothers’ “The Eye”. The Rambo one is really weird (thumbnail to your left), I don’t know rather to throw spoil fruit on it or frame it; but the one for “The Eye” is really creepy in a, “Man, that’s just not right” kind of creepy. I mean, come on, it’s a hand coming out of someone’s eye. Poor Jessica Alba’s eye, probably. Now that’s just gross, man.

Here’s your first look at the new horror movie starring Jessica Alba — a remake of the Hong Kong horror film of the same name, written and directed by the Pang Brothers (“The Messengers”), who are already hard at work remaking their own movie, “Bangkok Dangerous”, starring Nicholas Cage. “The Eye” stars Jessica Alba as a blind woman who receives a cornea transplant that allows her to see again, but it also gives her a deadly curse to see dead people. Pretty soon, the poor girl can’t go anywhere without seeing ghosts, including an elevator encounter that should freak you out even if the directors of the remake fubars it badly, which they really can’t, because that scene is just tremendous. And from the looks of the trailer, it really does appear as if directors David Moreau and Xavier Palud have followed the plot and narrative of the original very closely.

It appears there are a tiny bit of problem with Jessica Alba’s remake of the Pang Brothers’ horror opus “The Eye”. According to FilmJerk, the movie is far from finished, and Jessica Alba herself is headed back up north to Canada for at least two weeks of reshoots. So what’s the problem, if any? Apparently the film isn’t scary enough, because the scenes will be used to “amp up” the film’s supernatural elements. Curiously, directors David Moreau and Xavier Palud won’t be there to direct the reshoots, and instead sequel master Patrick Lussier will be in charge of the reshoot duties.
The Filmjerk article does stress that this doesn’t mean any major changes to the movie’s storyline ala the recent problems with Nicole Kidman’s “The Invasion”. Again, it’s just to make the film’s supernatural elements more, well, more noticeable.
In the remake, as in the original, a blind violinist gets an experimental eye transplant that allows her to see. But her new [...]

The blokes over at Bloody-Disgusting has got your first look at images of Jessica Alba from her new movie, the Tom Cruise-produced horror “The Eye”, a remake of the Chinese movie of the same name originally starring Angelica Lee and written and directed by the Pang Brothers. (Read our review of the original here.) I’m not sure what’s happening in the first picture (Jessica looks horrified at what’s happened to the cookies she was baking, apparently; but the second picture looks like the infamous scene in the elevator where the character notices a ghost appearing and standing behind her. The scene is just tremendous, because the heroine is trapped in the elevator with the ghost and can’t go anywhere, and she has to stand there and pretend the ghost isn’t there. It scared the hell out of me when I first saw it in the original movie.
In the film Sydney, a young, blind violinist is given the chance to see [...]

David Moreau and Xavier Palud’s acclaimed French thriller, “Them” (Ils in French) is coming to America — or at least, to New York and Los Angeles, says Fangoria. The film will open in NY and LA on August 17, and more cities may follow if the film does well there. The film stars Olivia Bonamy (“Bloody Mallory”) and Michael Cohen as a couple terrorized by unknown assailants in their country home. Why does this movie matter to you? Because Moreau and Palud is currently helming the American remake of the Pang Brothers’ Chinese horror “The Eye”.
The plot of “Them”:
Somewhere in Romania; Clementine is finishing off her day of teaching the local kids french, on her way home she spots an abandoned vehicle beside the road. She continues on unaware of what occurred to it’s occupants a mother and her teenage daughter the night before.
