I have to admit, I wasn’t nearly as thrilled as most people with “The Incredible Hulk”, that gratuitous reboot of the big green guy. The upcoming DVD and Blu-Ray release has a blurb from someone over at AICN calling the movie, “Every bit as Good as ‘Iron Man’”, which makes me wonder if they actually saw “Iron Man”. But I digress. Louis Leterrier’s version of the Hulk arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray October 21, 2008, and we have the cover art for both versions, as well as complete specs for you buckaroos courtesy of Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Head on below.

Ah, I love me some crow. Wasn’t it just a month ago that every movie site out there was boasting about the potential greatness of Louis Leterrier’s “The Incredible Hulk” while, of course, freely (and in some cases, feeling the fanboy urge to unnecessarily) bash Ang Lee’s 2003 version? All these same movie sites, run by guys undoubtedly smarter than I, were gushing about the genius addition of Edward Norton, and how this Hulk was going to have “legs” at the box office. As it turns out, not so much. Sure, Norton did his usual good job, but let’s face it, in your heart of hearts you all know that this Hulk was no better (and in fact, I found it wanting) than the previous Hulk, and its legs turned out to be stumps. Word of mouth and second-week take for the movie went down the crapper — along with all the predictions.
At the end of the day, it’s looking [...]

The last time Mike Myers was actually on movie screens (and not just his voice), he was wearing a furry cat costume in 2003’s “The Cat in the Hat”, and after 5 years of no Mike Myers, you would think there would be more love for the man’s return. Apparently not, as Myers’ “The Love Guru”, his first onscreen movie in 5 years, tanked at the box office in its debut, taking in a measly $14 million from slightly over 3000 theaters, just barely good enough to edge out M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Happening” to land at #4. The week’s only other debut, the Steve Carrell comedy “Get Smart”, surpassed expectations, wrangling first place away from last week’s champ, “The Incredible Hulk” with a solid $39 million in its first week.
Louis Leterrier’s “The Incredible Hulk”, meanwhile, had a fight with the animated animals of “Kung Fu Panda” for third place, but according to BoxOfficeMojo, it lost (these are studio weekend [...]

Hulk 2.0 took first place at the box office over the weekend with a solid $54 million in its opening week. Not bad, right? Well, not really. Despite how Marvel will try to spin this (Marvel chairman David Maisel is already out there spinning his butt off as I type this), consider this: Ang Lee’s 2003 “Hulk” took in $62.1 in its opening weekend, before bad word of mouth by fanboys sank the movie in its second week. With that little barely-history lesson in perspective, Louis Leterrier’s “The Incredible Hulk’s” #1 box office weekend showing is not altogether very impressive, by which I mean Marvel better hope the second week drop-off isn’t as bad as the Lee version. We’ll know for sure in week 2 if reviving the Green Goliath with anger management issues after just 5 years was a good idea.
Meanwhile, the chopsocky goodness of cartoon animals continue its strong showing at the box office, with “Kung Fu Panda” [...]

Ang Lee’s version of the Hulk was not welcomed by diehard comic book geeks, barely-men who were too busy fawning over the latest Michael Turner sketch drawings of a half-naked Witchblade to watch Lee’s “The Ice Storm” or “Pushing Hands”, and thus had no idea what they were getting into when they stepped into those cold, darken theaters back in 2003. The poor bastards, they never stood a chance. Hollywood saw Lee do action in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, and decided he could do comic book action, too. Well, yeah, kinda. Lee’s Hulk wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, although I liked it for its complexity and humanity, despite being a movie about, essentially, a green guy that likes to smash things up real good when things didn’t go his way, or as I like to call it, the Hillary Theory.
Then again, who didn’t see the negative reaction to “Hulk” coming? You don’t make a movie about a superhero and [...]

Eh, I kinda thought it was too much to be true when “Incredible Hulk” director Louis Leterrier was going around hinting (well, he actually did more than hint, he pretty much promised it) that the Star-Spangled Avenger would be showing up in a cameo in “Hulk”, especially with Tony Stark already in there as promised. Now it appears as if Leterrier has changed his tune and confirmed that Captain America won’t be in “Hulk”, and tells SOS Hollywood the following (via Cinemablend):
“There’s a point when Bruce Banner gives up on his quest for the cure and decide to kill himself. So he travels far North and reaches the Arctic Circle. You might have seen bits of it in some of the promos. The result was a very dark and strong scene, which Marvel, me and everyone else’s considered to be too hard to young audiences to take, so we’ve cut it. Having that said, when Bruce arrives at his destination [...]

Is this possible? Could Marvel actually be giving us not one, but two amazing cameos in “The Incredible Hulk”? First Tony Stark makes an appearance, and now … Captain America in living person? Maybe, according to “Hulk” director Louis Leterrier (pictured, left), who drops the hint about 3 minutes into this 6 minute interview with G4’s Attack of the Show. Well, it’s not really a hint. He sort of comes right and tells us that Captain America may be making an appearance, in person, in “Hulk”.
Quoting Louis Leterrier:
Did you know that in “Iron Man” there’s the Captain America shield somewhere … well in “Hulk” you might see Captain America himself.
Whoa!
Also, Brownie props to Louis Leterrier for not rising to the host’s going-with-the-wind bashing of Ang Lee’s “Hulk”. Then later, when Louis Leterrier mentions that Captain America may be in the movie, the host responds with a, “Ah, very nice,” and moves right along without following up on it! Wow, way [...]

It’s been rumored, and recently it’s been confirmed from online reviews of the movie, and now Marvel Studios has decided, “Eh, what the hell”, and added it into the latest trailer for their Hulk reboot. Or maybe this was the plan all along, especially considering the mega success of “Iron Man”. Yup, that’s right, kids, it’s Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., making a cameo appearance not just in “The Incredible Hulk” movie itself, but in the trailer for the movie. See it below.
“The Incredible Hulk” stars Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, William Hurt, Christina Cabot, and is directed by Louis Leterrier (”The Transporter”).
The Hulk tears it up June 13, 2008.
Side note: Speaking of Iron Man, Joblo.com reports that “Iron Man 2″ is set to film March 2009 for a Summer 2010 release. Or at least that’s what Terrence Howard told Military.com.

In “Iron Man”, Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson as envisioned by writer Mark Millar and artist Bryan Hitch in the Marvel Ultimates universe) showed up at the end to talk to Tony Stark about “the Avenger Initiative”. With Marvel now in full command of their products, it was rumored that someone from Iron Man would be making an appearance in “The Incredible Hulk” to link the two movies — but more importantly, their universes — together. Now we have actual confirmation: Yes, Iron Man himself (Robert Downey Jr.) WILL, indeed, be making a cameo appearance in “Hulk”.
Here’s what the Scifimoviepage.com has to say about Tony Stark’s cameo in “The Incredible Hulk” in their review of the movie (the review itself is positive, so take a look at it):
One can see that Marvel now has more control over the movie adaptations of its material in the way they have now brought the concept of “cross-overs” to them. Robert Downey [...]

As of right now, there are a ton of minute-long clips of the movie online for your viewing pleasure, and I have to admit, there are a couple of good ones in there. I especially like the one where Tim Roth, playing a badass military guy, literally takes on the green behemoth one-on-one, and actually survives for more than a minute! Check out all the clips below.
Fugitive Dr. Bruce Banner must utilize the genetic accident that transforms him into a giant, rampaging hulk to stop a former soldier that purposely becomes an even more dangerous version.

The discovery comes from FirstShowing.net, who is adamant that the shield does in fact show up in the film.
Here’s what FirstShowing said:
The scene in which you can see the shield is after Iron Man returns from Afghanistan after fighting with the Mark III red/gold armor for the very first time. Right after he fights the two F-22 fighter jets, it shows him back in his lab trying to remove his armor but having trouble. Right as Pepper Potts walks down into his lab and asks him “what is he doing?”, the shield can be seen sitting on one of his tables behind him in the lower left corner.

Coming on the heels of those new “Incredible Hulk” pictures, comes a brand spanking new trailer. Let’s face it — when we go to see Louis Lettierer’s “The Incredible Hulk”, we’re all going to go see the moment when the Hulk faces off against the Abomination in the city streets. Everything else up to that point will be a lot of running, screaming, and plot development, because when your main character is a big green guy with muscles out the wazoo, the only thing you can do is throw another big guy with even more muscles and watch them go at it.
Having said that, here’s a new trailer for “The Incredible Hulk” that just showed up at Apple.com. See the trailer in its full quicktime glory here.
Hulk out June 13, 2008.

Some new images from Edward Norton’s reboot of “The Incredible Hulk” have popped up online for your perusal pleasure. More looks at the Hulk ripping stuff up, and better looks at Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky, aka The Abomination. I don’t think there are anything overly new here, but a couple that we’ve not seen before, which is not entirely bad. Starring Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William Hurt, and Liv Tyler.
Scientist Bruce Banner desperately hunts for a cure to the gamma radiation that poisoned his cells and unleashes the unbridled force of rage within him: The Hulk. Living in the shadows–cut off from a life he knew and the woman he loves, Betty Ross–Banner struggles to avoid the obsessive pursuit of his nemesis, General Thunderbolt Ross, and the military machinery that seeks to capture him and brutally exploit his power. As all three grapple with the secrets that led to The Hulk’s creation, they are confronted with a monstrous new [...]

You’ve probably all heard the stories: Edward Norton is butting heads with Marvel Studios over the cut of “The Incredible Hulk”. Norton, and director Louis Leterrier, wanted a longer and more character-driven movie, but Marvel wanted a leaner and meaner green machine. And since it’s Marvel’s movie, they’ve won. Sort of. Norton has now broken his silence by sending an email statement to Entertainment Weekly, who has done a lengthy article on “The Incredible Hulk”. To sum up Norton’s statement: stories of the “feud” are overblown and not true.
Here’s the excerpt that gets to the nitty gritty:
Regrettably, our healthy process, which is and should be a private matter, was misrepresented publicly as a ‘dispute,’ seized on by people looking for a good story, and has been distorted to such a degree that it risks distracting from the film itself, which Marvel, Universal and I refuse to let happen. It has always been my firm conviction that films should speak for [...]

The Incredible Hulk is scheduled to tear up theaters on June 13, 2008 once his Marvel buddy Iron man has done the deed a month before, but you can check out a brand spanking new poster for the film now. It’s a throwback to the TV series, with Bruce Banner (played by Edward Norton in this one) walking away with a satchel, as the Hulk looms over him. It actually looks quite nice. Too bad the movie will probably be one big CGI mess.
Physicist Bruce Banner takes flight in order to understand — and hopefully cure — the condition that turns him into a monster.
Norton hulks out on us June 13, 2008.

The much trailer for “The Incredible Hulk” was not exactly a hit with fans; it wasn’t entirely bad, but the final few seconds, when he’s fighting the Abomination on the streets — wow, that didn’t go down very well at all. Then again, it’s a movie about a gigantic green guy who can throw tanks around. It’s kind of hard to make that “real”. In any case, the Incredible Hulk official site has a new behind-the-scenes featurette for the movie. Check it out below.

Everybody who is interested in comic book movies and has a movie blog have been talking about the upcoming cross-cover cameos by characters from the two upcoming Marvel movies, “The Incredible Hulk” and “Iron Man”. And with Marvel as the sole studio behind the two movies, there seems to be no obstacle to such a thing; in fact, why wouldn’t the two movies cross-over, would be the real question. So what does the star have to say about it? Here’s Robert Downey Jr. with his take.
More:
He managed to be a bit more forthcoming on the topic of his “Hulk” cameo, revealing the moment in question.
“It happens to be a scene where I basically approach [William Hurt’s character, General Ross], and we may be considering going into some sort of limited partnership together,” Downey stated.
Adding, Downey said, “The great thing is he — and I don’t want to give too much away — but he’s in disrepair at the time I [...]

As soon as they finish their theatrical run, and the DVDs are on the shelf, Marvel’s “Iron Man” and “The Incredible Hulk” will be heading straight to the FX Network for their cable run, thanks to a major deal between Marvel Studios and the FX Network. Not only those two movies, but Marvel will also throw in three, as-yet-unnamed comic book movies. In return, FX will pony up something in the vicinity of $22 million buckaroos a piece for each movie.
More:
As with most of the basic-cable pre-buys, the net agrees to pony up a license fee that hovers at around 11% of the domestic gross, a figure that cuts off at $200 million. If all five movies end up as $200 million-plus blockbusters — a very big if, of course — FX would pay the maximum $22 million apiece for a grand total of $110 million. That’s a gigantic license fee, but lots of people watch big-hit movies on [...]

You saw a teaser of the trailer yesterday, and now today MTV has unleashed the full trailer for “The Incredible Hulk”, aka “Hulk 2″, aka don’t mention the Ang Lee version because fanboys are a suspicious lot. This trailer was supposedly cut with Edward Norton’s input, leading to that hullabaloo between Norton and Marvel Studios about the final cut of the film that was reported earlier. In any case, here’s the first ever trailer for “Hulk 2″: see Norton as Banner, Roth as the ugly as sin Abomination, and Liv Tyler in brainy Tina Fey glasses. Thoughts?
Depicting the events after the Gamma Bomb. ‘The Incredible Hulk’ tells the story of Dr Bruce Banner, who seeks a cure to his unique condition, which causes him to turn into a giant green monster under emotional stress. Whilst on the run from military which seeks his capture, Banner comes close to a cure. But all is lost when a new creature emerges; The [...]
