So it seems like some of the movie, or at least some significant scenes, will be set in Russia, if this blog post from Michael Bay’s website is anything to go by:
Nelson here…
Spoke with Michael today and got some little info on TF3: there will be big action sequences shot in Chicago and Moscow this time around.
Also, Mike will match the amount raised by the TF2 DVD/Blu-ray sales for the Make A Wish Foundation.
In contrast to the last Transformers film which had its main action sequence set in a desert void of food, water and a decent storyline, this one should have at least one set amidst the freezing temperatures of Moscow. While there are no specifics about the plot, this gives us a fairly basic idea about where the film will take place (and lets be honest, none of us are going to be seeing Transformers 3 for it’s plot). So expect plenty of exploding Kremlin [...]

The man who has never seen an explosion that he hasn’t liked talks about the potential direction for Transformers 3 in a DVD extra for Revenge of the Fallen. His prognosis? Smaller, more intimate, more character driven. Perhaps darker. What exactly, then, was he doing with the first two films? Bay made it sound like it was physically impossible to shove more action into the stove of the films, as if he could no longer feed the beast. I guess this answers humanity’s oldest question: is there an action sequence too big that not even Michael Bay can make it?
He also says that he is combing the Transformers lore looking for story ideas, and so there should be no end to the source material. He discusses further specifics below.

Apparently being really, really hot doesn’t mean you can do and say anything you want without consequence. Go figure. Not all that long ago, Megan Fox recently wished all of Middle America was murdered because they don’t hold the same views as she does on gay marriage; then the lovely “Transformers” star began a series of scorched Earth interviews where she laid into the “Transformers” movies and Michael Bay. EW chronicles the whole thing here.
So, what’s the latest word on our favorite mouthy hottie? Someone in Megan Fox’s camp has issued this statement and attributed it to her. Obviously, she didn’t write it herself, and I’m inclined to believe she didn’t even read it.
“I have spoken with the parties involved privately,” Fox said in a statement, via her publicist. “I am very fortunate to be involved in this amazing franchise and look forward to Transformers 3.”
Megan Fox does not go around saying, “I have spoken with the parties [...]

By now you may or may not have heard: Megan Fox is really hot and really mouthy. The target of Megan Fox’s mouthiness has been, of late, her former “Transformers” director Michael Bay, who Fox has likened to a socially retarded Hitler. Apparently not everyone is happy with that comparison. A trio of former Bay crewmembers have risen to defend their dear leader, posting a rather defamatory (and long) letter on Michael Bay’s website in response to Fox’s comments. While the letter itself has since been removed, this is the Internet, so of course there are copies for all to read.
DHD has the entire letter over at their site, but here are the highlights:
And who is the real Megan Fox? She is very different than the academy nominee and winning actors we’ve all worked around. She’s as about ungracious a person as you can ever fathom. She shows little interest in the crew members around her. We work to [...]

If it’s Comic Con, then it has to have sci-fi, right? Let’s start off with a couple of sci-fi at Comic Con related news, starting with James Cameron’s “Avatar”, sure to be one of the biggest panel at the con. A new poster for it, and information on the movie’s panel, here. And hey, fans of Farscape, Rockne O’Bannon, Claudia Black, and Ben Browder will also be at the con to promote a re-release of the show’s four seasons, now repackaged into a mega box set. It’s not just big, it’s mega size! You know you want one. More info on that here. Plus, a quick note that the Robert Rodriguez-produced “Predators” has landed its director, and his name is Nimrod Antal. No jokes about the man’s first name, please.

File this one under the category of, “I’ll believe it when I see it with my own eyes.” According to the site WENN (via IMDB.com), explosions master Michael Bay, who once touted his need for awesome explosions in his everyday life in a Verizon commercial, has grown tired of movies filled with explosions and giant battling robots ala the “Transformers” franchise. The impetus for this change of heart? Apparently The Bay is tired of critics skewering him for the lack of substance and over reliance on explosions in his films.
Says The Bay:
“It’s easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France. But people have no idea how hard it is to create something like Transformers. They (the critics) review me before they’ve even seen the movie.”
He goes on:
“After the three and a half years I’ve spent making these movies, I feel like I’ve had enough of the Transformers world. I need to do [...]

According to Digital Spy (via), the Powers That Be at Dreamworks have already given Michael Bay the go-ahead for a second and third installment in the upcoming “Transformers” franchise. Yes, that’s right, they’re going to turn it into a franchise by using that oh-so-popular spontaneous trilogy gag ala the “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Matrix”, and “Lord of the Rings” films. Tis is how DS puts it: “Meanwhile, the DreamWorks studio has given the provisional go-ahead for two more movies.” I.e. Yeah, they’re saying, “We want two sequels” now, but they could say different later, depending on the box office of “Transformers”, no doubt.
But in any case, this jives with what Megan Fox told MTV News a few weeks ago about already signing for a “Transformers” sequel.
“Transformers” opens July 4th.
Here’s a new trailer featuring Bumblebee talking:
