Instead of breaking bread with your family this Thanksgiving, why not take a trip to the local multiplex and hang out with Jason Statham and James Franco? Written by Sylvester Stallone and directed by Gary Fleder, “Homefront” is an all-American way to celebrate the holiday. Assuming you’re from the United States, of course. Otherwise it’s just another day on the calendar. I’m sure there will be other holidays to spend with Statham.
Although I could wow you with a sharply-written plot synopsis that accentuates the finer points of the film’s plot, I’ll simply regurgitate this official plot synopsis that quickly and abruptly sets the cinematic stage. It also suggests there isn’t much of a story to speak of. But this a Statham flick! Who cares? As long as he punches someone, all is well.
The synopsis you crave, minus the gravy:
HOMEFRONT is an action movie about a widowed ex-DEA agent who retires to a small town for the sake of his 10-year-old daughter. The only problem is he picked the wrong town.
In addition to Statham and Franco, “Homefront” stars Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth, Frank Gillo, and Izabela Vidovic. The film opens in theaters across North America on November 27, 2013. When you’re ready, check out the new 30-second TV spot below.
