CGI Parachutes Attack in First Red Dawn Clip

What’s scarier than a bunch of CGI parachutes falling out of the sky? The planes dropping said parachutes getting blown up and then destroying the house next to you, for one. And second, having to hitch your salvation to the formerly chubby kid from “Drake and Josh”. Let’s hope there’s more to director Dan Bradley’s “Red Dawn” than just those two things. Until then, check out your very first clip from the upcoming remake, which just got through making its world premiere at Fantastic Fest down in Austin yesterday. The reviews, uh, have been less than kind, in case you were wondering.

In Red Dawn, a city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

Also starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Adrianne Palicki, Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas, Brett Cullen, Matt Gerald, Will Yun Lee, Michael Beach, and Connor Cruise.

The invasion commences November 21, 2012.
