Channing Tatum is one of the Brotherhood of the Rose

Brotherhood of the Rose (2010) Movie — By Nix on January 30, 2009 |

Now this is a movie I can get behind. The premise is killer, so it’s no surprise it’s already been made into a movie once, as a 1989 TV mini-series starring Peter Strauss and David Morse. The movie version was announced a while back, and now it looks like Warner Bros. has found one of the orphan brothers turned CIA-trained assassin in “G.I. Joe’s” Channing Tatum. The article also mentions that Dito Montiel, who last directed Tatum in “Fighting”, will be writing and directing the big-screen version of David Morrell’s novel of the same name.

Says Variety:

Montiel is rewriting an earlier draft from Adam Cozad. In the novel, two orphans are raised by a CIA operative to become assassins, only to become targets themselves.

I loved the mini-series back in the ’80s, and the movie version should be just as good, as long as both male leads are capable of selling the action sequences. These guys are supposed to be uber deadly in the arts of assassination. Maybe they can get Morgan Freeman for the dad part. He already kinda played the part once already in “Wanted”.
