What’s old is new again. CBS has done pretty well with their “Hawaii 5-O” reboot, and now ABC is getting back into the old TV show reboot business with a new “Charlie’s Angels” from producer Drew Barrymore, who played one of the lasses in the two “Charlie’s Angels” movies. The new show will relocate the Angels to Miami, and will of course have modern sensibilities.
The first actor to join the cast is Annie Ilonzeh, formerly of daytime soap “General Hospital”. Ilonzeh will be playing “Kate, a very smart and very athletic ex-cop and a master of martial arts. She is the most serious of our three Angels, but also knows how to let her hair down and have a great time.”
Frankly, if the idea was to mix up the cast with an African-American, they should have considered Gugu Mbatha-Raw from the recently canceled “Undercovers”. She’s already got the whole asskicking secret agent thing down.
