After wrapping “Snow White and the Huntsman” with Rupert Sanders, Charlize Theron is looking to stay in the Rupert business, and has teamed up with “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” director Rupert Wyatt for a sci-fi action movie called “Agent 13”.
Not much else is known about the film (it’s another one of those precious super secret projects, so precious and super secret, just the mention if a logline may set the world ablaze, or some such), but it is being called a “sci-fi action pic”.
Wyatt hasn’t done anything since “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” was a surprise hit in 2011, but Theron is coming off “Huntsman” and will next be seen in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi epic “Prometheus”. It’s not like Theron is new to sci-fi. Remember her playing the lead in the live-action “Aeon Flux” movie? No? Well, don’t worry, most people who saw that movie wishes they didn’t remember it.
“Agent 13” is being pitched to studios with Wyatt and Theron attached, based on a script by T.S. Nowlin. Given that Wyatt is a wanted man post-“Apes”, this shouldn’t be too hard of a sell. Ironic, that it’s probably Wyatt who will sell the movie to the studio, and not movie star Theron. Go figure.
