Charlize Theron Talks Sympathy for Lady Vengeance Remake

By Nix | March 14, 2008 (11:29 am) | More: Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (Remake 2009) Movie

So there was that brief mention of Charlize Theron possibly remaking Park Chan-wook’s “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance”, and now we have Theron herself saying it. In an interview with MTV that she did a few days back, Theron is asked about “Lady Vengeance”, and she confirms that she is remaking it. Not only that, but according to her, Park has told her that he wants her to remake it, and that he wants to see the movie translated (literally) for an American audience. I kid you not.

Click here to see the interview. The part where Theron talks about “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance” comes toward the end, after the conversation about “Hancock”.

Some bullet points:

- Park Chan-wook has personally signed off on the remake.
- Park won’t be directing it.
- Theron is in the early stages of development.
