But how do they get from not being able to find him for years, to finally tracking him down in that house of love of his in Pakistan? That’s apparently the tale that Kathryn Bigelow and her “Hurt Locker” partner/screenwriter Mark Boal will be chronicling in their untitled Bin Laden movie, which has been modified quite a bit since Bin Laden’s real-life death came while they were still writing the script. (Personally, I think “Kill Bin Laden” is a pretty awesome title myself.)
Today brings news that Mark Strong (“John Carter of Mars”), Edgar Ramirez (“Carlos”), and the ubiquitous Jessica Chastain (every single movie in 2011) are “circling” the film.
Of the three, Chastain will have to work out a previous commitment to Tom Cruise’s sci-fi actioner “Oblivion”. If she and the other two do sign on the dotted line, they will join a cast that currently includes Jason Clarke, Joel Edgerton and Chris Pratt. The formerly cast trio are no doubt playing badass members of SEAL Team 6, the group of uber soldiers that finally tracked down Bin Laden and busted a cap in his ass.
Sony Pictures, meanwhile, has set the film for a December 19, 2012 release date.
