Check Out This Suitably Vampiric Opening Sequence from the Blade Anime

Below you can feast your eager little eyes upon the opening sequence from the “Blade” anime, which is overloaded with vampires, weaponry, and, of course, the man himself. Although I wasn’t a big fan of the live-action series that was produced here in the States a few years ago, I am quite curious to see how Japan handles the franchise. From the looks of things, it might be something worth investigating. Until this thing arrives on this side of the pond courtesy of G4, I suppose I’ll have to satisfy my animated vampire-slaying urges by watching this clip again. After all, it is kind of cool if you dig this sort of flashy stuff. Which, of course, I do.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)

Looks good. Reminds me of the “Devil May Cry” anime opening. I like that they show his eyes through the glasses but wish they went with the shiny reflective look used in “Hellsing” but not bad at all. I’ll be watching all of the animes. After the casting for I’M and Wolverine I’m intrigued who they’ll get for X-men and Blade. I say Michael Jai White for Blade (he voiced Doomsday on Justice League Unlimmited) and Kelsey Grammer for Beast.
