Fresh off redefining the meaning of “hapless” in CBS’ hit show “Under the Dome”, actress Natalie Martinez (who plays easily bamboozled cop Linda Esquivel on the show) has landed one of the female leads in the new thriller “Home Invasion”. It’s not clear if her role is THE female lead, or just ONE of the female leads.
She’ll be joining the previously cast Bella Thorne in the movie, playing the young Disney star’s step-mother. “Home Invasion” will follow the family as they are “imprisoned in their own home by intruders who play a life and death game in which the mysterious rules become clear as the night unfolds.”
Martinez’s character is described as a “strong-willed stepmother who is determined to keep her new family intact as the night’s horrific events unfold.”
Good luck, kids!
Commercials director Sean Carter is making his feature-film debut on the movie, to be produced by Joel Silver of Silver Pictures.
You might remember Martinez from the “Death Race” remake. She’s since parlayed that role into a couple of cop TV roles, including “Under the Dome”. She’s also got the movie “Selfless” with Ryan Reynolds on the way, as well as “Run All Night” with Liam Neeson.
Bella Thorne, meanwhile, is one of the stars of the Disney show “Shake it Up”. And we all know what happens to Disney princesses when they’re finally unleashed. Just sayin’.
