Children of Men and Iron Man Writers Tapped for Tomb Raider Reboot

Looks like the folks making noise about rebooting the “Tomb Raider” franchise are serious. After securing film rights to the videogame heroine a mere two months ago, THR reports that GK Films have now set the writing duo of Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby to spin themselves another tale of tomb raiding and British-accented adventure.

While they may not be as well-known as other writing duos in Hollywood, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby can claim success on “Children of Men” (for which they were nominated for an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay), the first “Iron Man”, and Jon Favreau’s upcoming “Cowboys and Aliens” among their credits.

The plan has always been to reboot the franchise, so look for an Origins Story about a younger Lara Croft in the near future. The shorts-wearing lovely may be invading tombs and your dreams as early as 2013.

I guess with her sudden plummeting of popularity, getting Megan Fox for this is out of the question? Likewise that “Fathom” movie, I would assume. Sigh. Remember when Megan Fox was really, really popular?
