Chinese Trailer for John Woo’s Red Cliff

Written by Nix | June 11th, 2008 | 0 Comments |

Earlier in the week there were reports that a stuntman had been killed on the set of John Woo’s Chinese epic “Red Cliff” (which, apparently, is still shooting even as we speak), which is tragic, but I’m surprise it doesn’t happen more often given the chances these guys take on a daily basis on even the tamest Chinese movies. But enough of the grim news; here’s a new, minute-long Chinese trailer for “Red Cliff”. Not a whole lot you haven’t seen before, and the Chinese language, and lack of English subtitles, makes everything taking place onscreen sort of confusing, but you know, lots of action, people gets chopped with big ass weaponry, and all that good stuff you expect from your Chinese historical martial arts epics.

Based on the events during the Three Kingdoms period in Ancient China in which specifically told in the title, The Battle of Red Cliffs.

Starring Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Wei Zhao, Chen Chang, and Shido Nakamura. John Woo produces and directs.

“Red Cliff”, should Woo finally manages to finish this thing, is supposed to hit theaters in 2008. Maybe.
