Chloe Moretz really is everywhere right now. The undeniably talented teen plays the main role in the upcoming “Let Me In”, will reprise her role as Hit-Girl in “Kick-Ass 2”, and she is even working with Martin Scorsese in “Hugo Cabaret”. Now it appears she’ll to take another foray into comic book movies.
Universal has acquired the rights to the Dark Horse Comics title “Emily The Strange”, and Moretz is attached to play the title role, an “odd but stylish young lady.”
The character of Emily is an interesting story. She initially appeared on a series of stickers to promote Cosmic Debris, a clothing line founded by skateboarder Rob Reger. From there the brand grew to encompass an array of products, including stationary, fashion accessories, comic books, and young adult novels. A movie seems like a natural part of the progression.
The movie will be produced by Dark Horse’s Mike Richardson, and Reger will serve as executive producer.
