Everyone lucky enough to make it into Hall H during the big Marvel shindig over at Comic Con (and managed not to get stabbed by their fellow con-goer) got a quick sneak peek at Joe Johnston’s upcoming “Captain America: The First Avenger” movie, and in the short teaser, you got your first glimpse of Chris Evans in full Captain America costume. Well, almost full. Check out that image from the teaser below.

Based on the Marvel Comics character from World War II. A brave, yet mild-mannered young soldier named Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to undergo a series of experiments for a US army Super Soldier program. The military succeeds in transforming him into a human weapon, but quickly decide that their Super Soldier is far too expensive a creation to risk in combat. So, they decide to put him to use as an army celebrity and parade him across Europe to boost morale by performing in USO shows for American troops. He is even given a costume that bear the colors of Old Glory for the stage. Then, when a Nazi plot reveals itself Rogers must rise up and and become the First Avenger, in order to save his country. Steve Rogers becomes Captain America and he earns his way into the hearts and souls of every American, bringing hope and justice to a war-weary nation. Later, during a mission to Germany to stop his archenemy – The Red Skull, from launching rockets at the allies, Captain America sacrifices himself and winds up frozen in ice for almost six decades! Revived, Steve Rogers now must join forces with new heroes and become an Avenger of the modern age.

Starring Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, Toby Jones, and directed by Joe Johnston.

Though its grainy, it's not bad. He looks almost unsure of himself, and I think with him just getting used to being this “super-soldier” that makes sense. Almost can't tell it's Evans without the trademark smile or smirk.

Hopefully by the Avengers,Whedon will make sure that Cap has those iconic wings painted on his helmet like they should be. Namor's wings are silly unless they're done more like “fins” like some species of fish have that look similar to wings such as “flying fish”. If it was up to me,I could easily explain how Namor could fly: Namor has many abilities just like some see creatures such as radar sense, a heightened senses of hearing, smell, and vision. Also he can create an electrical charge like eels AN USE THAT SAME ELECTRICAL CHARGE AS AN “ELECTRO-MAGNETIC FIELD” TO PROPEL HIMSELF IN THE AIR AND FLY. The “fins” would just be used as stabilizers that vibrate very fast used for balance and control while swimming or flying, similar to the wings of hummingbirds, bees and dragonflies.

He looks baby-face. And, I thought it odd that of the cast on stage for The Avengers he seemed to be the least of the tallest there. I think he is poorly cast for these reasons. Time will tell….

Um Ruffalo and Renner are the shortest in that pic. Evans is next to Hemsworth and he's just a few inches shorter. And as for baby faced, he suposed to be. This isn't the war hardened hero of WWII yet. He JUST became Cap, and was about 22-25 at the oldest. I mean granted when standing next to Stark and Fury and thor an everyone else he'll look very young, but that may work to his advantage as everyone may underestimate him because of his youth, except Fury who's seen what he can do first hand.

Ypu have some of the ebst ideas man. LoL.
As for the wings. I dunno. I didn't mis them on Ultimate Cap. If they paint them on and keep them painted then yeah i can deal. the minute they become actual wiongs He's gonna look silly.

Thanks Deadpool. Yeah, the painted on wings make the helmet look more complete and UNIFORM. The protruding wings would look silly and fairyish on screen.

I don't know if this is an official quote from Marvel, but if it is, I'm a big shocked. Steve Rogers was a weakling civilian that is taken by secret agents into a government safehouse that is a dusty curio shop on the first floor, but a super secret lab down below. It's protected by an woman dressed as a grandma that holds a gun and asks for a secret password. That's how he gets sucked into the Super Soldier program. He's a New Yorker! If he's already in the army, and knows Bucky and Erskine, it kind of changes a lot of things for me. Oh well, guess I'll roll with it if I have to. But that dark, mysterious curio shop scene has always been so special to me …
