I can’t believe I’ve never even heard of the upcoming movie “Push” until now, because frankly, this movie is right up my alley. I love this stuff, and the premise is just killer, although I would recommend getting rid of the “fight the Government” angle. How generic is that? But the rest of it sounds so good. The film’s director is Paul McGuigan (“Lucky Number Slevin”), and Dakota Fanning will be joining a cast that already includes Chris Evans, Camilla Belle and Djimon Hounsou. Chris Evans is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors, and McGuigan definitely knows action if “Slevin” is any indication.
Here’s the plot from IMDB.com:
The action packed sci-fi thriller involves a group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities, hiding from a clandestine U.S. government agency. They must utilize their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.
See what I mean? It sounds great, except for the whole government angle part. It’s just so generic. Been there, done that, don’t wanna see another movie about it.
Shooting will begin next month in Hong Kong for a 2008 release date.
