Chris Evans is so Awesome he didn’t Even Have to Audition for Captain America

And that’s according to Chris Evans himself, via IGN, who cornered him at WonderCon and asked how his “reading” for the role went. Um, he didn’t read. In fact, he didn’t even have to pull on tights and hop around the room throwing a pretend shield. Apparently all it took for Marvel to offer Evans the gig was to have seen him in his previous roles, including his past associations with them via “The Fantastic Four” movies. That, it would appear, was enough to offer up the role and the 200 or so movies he’ll have to wear the costume for.

Hey, it’s a cushy gig if you can get’em.

Joe Johnston will direct the “Captain America” movie, set during World War II, due out in 2011. Watch out, Hitler!

One of Evans' co-stars from “The Losers”. This is in the back press room after their WonderCon panel.

I'd love for them to introduce Isaiah Bradley in the film, and then later on have Eli show up in a second Cap film. I never thought having a black Cap for Steve Rogers would work, but I love the character of Isaiah and his legacy. Also saw a pic from him at wondercon and it looks like Evans has already started bulking up.
