And that’s according to Chris Evans himself, via IGN, who cornered him at WonderCon and asked how his “reading” for the role went. Um, he didn’t read. In fact, he didn’t even have to pull on tights and hop around the room throwing a pretend shield. Apparently all it took for Marvel to offer Evans the gig was to have seen him in his previous roles, including his past associations with them via “The Fantastic Four” movies. That, it would appear, was enough to offer up the role and the 200 or so movies he’ll have to wear the costume for.
Hey, it’s a cushy gig if you can get’em.
