Hey, if you needed someone to lead the rebellion against the evil rich people keeping you down (or, er, keeping you in the tail section of the train), you could do a lot worse than Captain America himself, am I right? Check out the first trailer for director Bong Joon-ho’s “Snowpiercer”, which posits that the remains of humanity are stuck on a train that goes around the globe, and where the rich lives in luxury and the poor, well, it sucks to be poor, even in the future where everyone is squeezed into a moving train, apparently.
Like most promo items we’ve seen for “Snowpiercer”, this one is Korean in origin. Which, again, makes me think the only way we’re going to see “Snowpiercer” Stateside is either on VOD or DVD.
Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.
Starring Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Alison Pill, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Ed Harris, Octavia Spencer, Luke Pasqualino, Ewen Bremner, Kang-ho Song, and Kenny Doughty.
No word on a release date yet.
Update: Swapped it with the official International trailer.
