After being rumored for the role, “Thor’s” Chris Hemsworth is officially bringing his thunder power to the woods in Universal’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” (not to be confused with Relativity’s other “Snow White” movie). He’ll star opposite “Twilight’s” Kristen Stewart, who is playing the Snow White of the title.
Hemsworth assumes the role after a deal for Viggo Mortensen fell through, and Hugh Jackman turned down the role. But hey, work is work, right?
The Aussie joins Stewart and Charlize Theron, who is playing the evil Queen who sends the Huntsman after Snow White, only to see the two team up against her. And more recently, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” star Sam Claflin, a relative newcomer, had been cast as the Prince.
Rupert Sanders is directing for Universal.
