Christian Alvart’s Case 39 Finally Sees the Light of Day

“Pandorum” director Christian Alvart’s thriller “Case 39” has been sitting on the shelf for a while now, but it looks like the studio has finally decided to let us see the movie. The film is set for a quick stint in theaters on October 1st, but don’t doubt that its ultimate destination is DVD. With the impending release, the studio have released a new trailer and poster for the film. The trailer is different than the one we got last year, with Bradley Cooper featured a bit more in this one, and the angle has been switched up to make it look like some kind of monster movie when the previous trailer made it pretty clear who you should be afraid of. See it below.

In CASE 39, family services social worker Emily Jenkins (Renée Zellweger) thinks she has seen it all… until she meets 10-year old Lilith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland) and the child’s cruel and dangerous parents. Her worst fears are confirmed when the parents try to harm Lily, their only daughter. Frightened for her life, Emily enlists the help of Detective Mike Barron (Ian McShane) and takes Lily in while she continues the search for the perfect foster family. Just as it seems as though Lily is on her way to a more loving home, under the guidance of Emily and psychiatrist (Bradley Cooper), dark forces surrounding this young girl come to light and, little do they know, their attempts to protect her will only bring on greater horror…

Starring Renee Zellweger, Jodelle Ferland, Ian McShane, Bradley Cooper and directed by Christian Alvart.

Open the case October 1, 2010.
