Christopher Smith Enters the Bermuda Triangle

British director Christopher Smith wants to enter the Bermuda Triangle and solve its mysteries. Well, okay, he probably doesn’t care about solving any mysteries, he probably just wants to make a horror move set in the Bermuda Triangle. Yeah, that makes more sense, actually. The director of “Creep” and “Severance” is currently developing the horror movie, which will see yachters taking refuge on an abandoned ocean liner when their boat sinks while they’re lost in the Triangle; they discover, of course, that the ocean liner ain’t so empty, after all. Don’t you just hate it when that happens? This is why I always carry a spare handgun with me everytime I go yachting.
Fangoria reports that Smith has already gotten a grant from the UK Film Council to develop the horror feature. Which leads me to this question: after two successful horror movies, why does Smith still need “grants” to make his film? Can’t he find an individual investor or studio to finance it? Or is the UK Film Council now considered a studio in the UK?
So many questions, so little desire to find out the answers…
