He made life miserable for the heroes of “Chronicle”, and now Dane DeHaan is about to make life miserable for Spider-Man in Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” sequel. Specifically, he’ll be nice and friendly to Peter Parker at the beginning, but that won’t last.
Webb announced the news himself on Twitter:

Webb and company have been meeting with a lot of young actors in Hollywood for the role, with DeHaan apparently winning out. In the Sam Raimi trilogy, James Franco played Harry Osborn. I don’t know if we can judge anything from DeHaan’s casting, but I’ve always connected DeHaan to dark and gritty roles, but that could just be because of his wildly successful “Chronicle” character.
In the comics, Harry Osborn is the best friend of Peter Parker, and son of Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin. Harry eventually takes over his father’s villainous legacy, and becoming one of Spider-Man’s greatest enemies.
