Chuck’s back in an all-new movie from “Child’s Play” creator Don Mancini, who not only wrote the script for this latest installment, but also directs. Mancini previously directed 2004’s “Seed of Chucky”, but it’s taken him a whoppin’ nine years to get another Chucky movie up and running. This one is going straight-to-DVD, but that’s probably due more to the film’s budget than anything.
Check out a new Red Band trailer for “Curse of Chucky”. It’s not nearly as bloody as I had expected from a horror movie’s Red Band trailer. Usually when you go through the trouble of slapping a restricted tag on a trailer, you throw in all the red stuff.
He’s back! From the filmmakers that brought you Chucky comes the terrifying return of the pint-sized doll possessed by the spirit of a notorious serial killer. When a mysterious package arrives at the house of Nica (Fiona Dourif, “True Blood”), she doesn’t give it much thought. However, after her mother’s mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to the ensuing bloodshed and chaos.
Brad Dourif returns to voice Chucky, and this time he’s brought along his daughter Fiona for the fun. So yes, it’s Dad vs. Daughter. That’s one way to keep it in the family, I guess.
Chuck invades Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download on October 8th.
