There is a difference between scare, suspense and terror/horror and just killing for no reason. In this movie has suspense moments which was spooky. However, there were sooo many dumb moves that it may it unrealistic to me and therefore I couldn't enjoy the movie without saying "oh, com'on" Here are a few: 1) A knock a the door 4am in the morning in the middle of no where. Will you open the door without asking who is it? NO! 2) You cannot see the woman's face at the door at 4am because the patio light is out so you don't try to see who she is by all means necessary. 3) He goes, should I go check on her. Ah...NOT! 4) Then later he goes to the store and leaves her by herself. Com'on. You just had a stranger knock on your door for no reason. 5) She calls to tell the guy the woman showed up again, but he denies if it was even her and belittles her concerns that no one has entered the house. 6) They take forever to scope out the house to prove "no ones" there. Com'on, we are in the middle of no where. It felt like I was watching an old Jason movie in the 80s when the directors and producers didn't no better on writing a scary movie. If you really want to see something similar but better than Th Strangers, watch Vacancy. Unfortunately, I was not impress with this movie. I personally felt the middle was way too drawn out, and I believe this could have been done a lot better. As for the masks, when my cousin and I saw them, we were laughing so loud the other members in the audience ssh(ed) us. But it was Okay, I'll give it that. I watched it just last night….it was OKAY.
