Cloverfield Update: New Picture, What is Slusho?
I should be getting really bored with the “Cloverfield” stuff about now, but strangely, I’m not. So much so that I have even bookmarked that 1-18-08 site and visit it periodically. It’s a good thing I did, because those marketing geniuses have added a second picture to the site, and this time they’re movable! Well, if you put your mouse over it, you can move the pictures around. That’s kinda cool, right? Anyways, scroll down below to see the new picture posted on the site. It’s a scene from the party. I’m not smart enough to figure out if there’s anything relevant in the pic, but hey, it’s new “Cloverfield” stuff, so why not?
“Cloverfield” is J.J. Abrams’ movie about, um, stuff.
Also, IGN says that “Cloverfield” also goes by the codename “Slusho”, apparently a harkening back to the days of Abram’s “Alias” TV series. Whatever it’s called, it’s got a giant monster and lots of stuff blow up real good.

The guy on the left has a Slusho t-shirt on. You can see it more clearly in the trailer. Although its blurry in the picture it’s similarity to the slusho insignia on the http://www.slusho.jp website is uncanny.
Under the working name (The Parasite), it would seem from the drilling company and Slusho websites, that the Slusho is very similar to the substance in the movie, “The Stuff” 1985, with the added twist that those affected become part of a massive composition of parasitic bodies taken over (hence the woman expanding from the inside out in the new trailer)…notice in the carriage scene that there are no dead bodies. I assume because they’ve been absorbed into the larger beast.
Possible?
Did anyone see the recepie on the back of one of the pictures for a sushi cook holding Japanese dish? that can’t possibly bee coincidence… but then again… this is a very intriguing movie so far…
