The Weinstein’s “Codename Geronimo” (since retitled “Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden” for TV consumption) will have premiered theatrically overseas by next week, but Stateside audiences looking for some insight (well, one attempt at insight, anyway) into the Osama Bin Laden manhunt and eventual raid will have to wait until November 5th when the movie becomes available online via Netflix. The film is not to be mistaken with the similarly-themed, but way A-list-heavier “Zero Dark Thirty” by Kathryn Bigelow, which opens theatrically in December. But you won’t have to wait to rent the film from Netflix, because the movie will premiere for free on the National Geographic Channel on November 4th.
SEAL TEAM SIX is a film that will provide our viewers with the first full length dramatization detailing one of the war on terrorism’s most crucial and historic events. It also showcases the extraordinary bravery and resourcefulness of the United States military and national security teams.
Starring Cam Gigandet, Anson Mount, Freddy Rodriguez, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Robert Knepper and William Fichtner. That’s not a bad cast, actually. Former “Prison Break” co-stars Knepper and Fichtner always do good work, and Mount is the star of “Hell on Wheels”, a personal favorite on AMC.
