Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn Tapped to Serve You More Meatballs

Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” was one of the biggest surprises of 2009, and, truthfully, I’m surprised it’s taken Sony this long to get off their collective behinds and start developing a sequel. After all, the film did amass $230 million worldwide, which isn’t too shabby given that the premise isn’t immediately accessible to those who haven’t read the book. If, like so many others, you decided to pass on the flick, by all means, correct this issue ASAP, especially if you fancy Bill Hader and Anna Faris. And I know a lot of you out there do.

Sony Animation wizards Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn have been selected to direct “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2″, which, apparently, hasn’t received the proverbial greenlight as of this writing. Both gentlemen worked on the original, and Cameron even helmed the direct-to-video family flick “Open Season 3″. Little is known about the production, though rumor has it the follow-up will continue to chronicle the misadventures of “Meatballs” hero Flint Lockwood.

Here’s hoping we’ll get more delicious sky-food in the not-too-distant future.

About Todd Rigney

View all Posts

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
