Although from the sounds of it, the possibility of the beautiful Paula Patton signing on is a lot higher than Colin Farrell, who is said to be only a “50-50” percent get for the film. Patton, on the other hand, is said to be “in negotiations” for one of the film’s lead roles already. I’m guessing female lead.
Based on the wildly popular role-playing game by Blizzard Entertainment (people line up for this thing), “World of Warcraft” takes place in a medieval-like setting where “players control avatars that take on gryphons, dragons, zombies, werewolves and elves. Time travel and alien worlds also are part of the mix.”
Of course, that was the game. Who knows how they will have to tinker with the setting in order to accommodate a feature-length film. I’m guessing time travel, aliens, and zombies will probably not be involved. Of course, I could be wrong (I often am).
“Source Code” and “Moon” director Duncan Jones is directing the fantasy epic, taking over for Sam Raimi, who was attached for the longest time. The film is currently set to shoot on January of 2014, with Jones directing off a script by Charles Leavitt.
Paula Patton is coming off “2 Guns”, while Colin Farrell recently starred in the “Total Recall” remake, along with a bunch of other films you didn’t see because, well, people just don’t go to see Colin Farrell movies.
