Will Arnett, comedian and star of TV and screen, has been added to the cast of the Michael Bay-produced “Ninja Turtles”. No word on what character the “Arrested Development” and “30 Rock” actor will play, but chances are it’ll be a comedic role, whether he’s playing a good guy or a bad guy in the movie. One thing’s for certain — it won’t be Casey Jones, the male lead in the film (other than, you know, the turtles).
Arnett joins Megan Fox, who is set to play turtles human ally April O’Neil, while the foursome of Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard and Noel Fisher are set to mo-cap suit it up as the titular four turtles.
Jonathan Liebesman (“Wrath of the Titans”) will direct the film, which is expected to take on an alien angle for the turtles’ origins.
Paramount already has “Ninja Turtles” set for a June 6, 2014 release.
Besides roles on “Arrested Development”, “Up All Night”, and “30 Rock”, Arnett is also a pretty prolific pitchman.
