Everytime I make a “ParaNorman” post and add it to the “Horror” news category, I feel like one of those niche horror sites who have to justify posting about, say, “The Hunger Games” when they know damn well there’s nothing “horror” about “The Hunger Friggin’ Games”. Technically “ParaNorman” is horror (it’s got zombies and monsters and ghosts and whatnot), but it’s not really horror, really. Anyways, whatever category you add it to, “ParaNorman” is shaping up to be a great movie for the kids and adults with some kid still left in them, and to further convince you to see this movie when it opens, here are five new, groovy posters and another featurette. Enjoy, enjoyers.
When a small town comes under siege by zombies, who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman, who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst, of all, grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits.
Featuring the voices of Kodi Smit-McPhee, Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, Bernard Hill, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jodelle Ferland, and directed by Chris Butler and Sam Fell.
Norman saves the day August 17, 2012.
