Crazy, Gravity-Defying Weirdness in the Trailer for Juan Solanas’ Upside Down

Upside Down (2012) Movie PosterSo yeah, this is a pretty unique little movie here. Okay, so maybe “little” is probably not the right word. It looks like it’s got a pretty big budget, since half of the film is literally shot upside-down (or however they managed it in production), with the final product probably requiring a hefty amount of special effects, and as we all know, them computer stuff don’t come cheap.

Anyways, get your first look at an International trailer for director Juan Solanas’ very novel movie, “Upside Down”, a sci-fi love story starring Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess.

The film looks exactly like you might imagine it would given the title and the premise, which follows a man (Sturgess) searching an alternate universe for a long-lost love from his youth (Dunst). The kicker? That universe just happens to exist directly above his own universe. They interact, except the guys on top look down on the guys at the bottom. Literally and figuratively, as it were. (Yes, not exactly uber subtle there, chief.)

Solanas co-wrote the script with Santiago Amigorena. There is no release date yet, but you’re looking at 2012 or thereabouts.
