According to those in the know, there’s a fairly effective viral video floating around for the upcoming found footage flick “Grave Encounters”, one that’s caused quite a stir with scaredy cats everywhere. At the end of the day, the clip snagged over seven million views on YouTube, a feat that is only eclipsed by cats playing pianos. I guess I’m not very cool, because somehow I missed it, but none of that really matters now. Below you’ll find the latest trailer for the aforementioned horror outing, a film that has garnered quite a few useable press quotes from respectable media outlets. Those are always kind of nice to have.

If, like me, you’re clueless about this one, read this synopsis:

Lance Preston and the crew of “Grave Encounters”, a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena has been reported for years. On the quest to expose the truth, and scare their viewers, the “Grave Encounters” crew conduct background interviews with current psychologists, as well as provide disturbing archival footage of patients in the earlier half of the century. All in the name of good television, they voluntarily lock themselves inside the building for the night and begin a paranormal investigation, capturing everything on camera. They quickly realize that the building is more than just haunted – it is alive – and it has no intention of ever letting them leave. They find themselves lost in a labyrinth maze of endless hallways and corridors, terrorized by the ghosts of the former patients. They soon begin to question their own sanity, slipping deeper and deeper into the depths of madness, ultimately discovering the truth behind the hospital’s dark past…and taping what turns out to be their final episode.

When you’re ready, the embedded trailer awaits.

Author: Todd Rigney

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)
