The story is uncompelling and the characters are cardboard cut-outs. What is the reason for lying about the emperor's first wife's death? What did the emperor do to her? I am sure it is not for taking on another wife since an emperor can take on as many wives as he pleases. We are being spoon-fed unfulfilling bits of soap opera. The exuding breasts are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to historical accuracy. The sets, costumes and rituals are totally overblown like flashing LED's on a plastic Christmas tree.
