CW Adds Vampire Diaries to Thursdays with Supernatural

Horror Movie News, Smallville TV Series, Supernatural TV Series, The Vampire Diaries TV Series — By Nix on May 20, 2009

If you’re not watching the CW’s Supernatural TV show, then I don’t know what to say to ya. It’s probably the best show on that incredibly forgettable network. The good news is that Supernatural isn’t going anywhere, and will be returning for a fifth season in its usual Thursday night timeslot. Except this time around, its lead-in show Smallville has moved to Fridays, leaving the spot open for the CW’s new teen horror vampire show, The Vampire Diaries.

The Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev as a young woman name Elena who is caught between two vampire brothers — one good, one evil — to be played by Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. The show was adapted for the small screen by “Scream” writer Kevin Williamson, who knows his way around teen killers, and is based on a series of young adult novels by L. J. Smith. The show stars Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Katerina Graham, Kayla Ewell, Sara Canning, Michael Trevino, Steven R. McQueen, and Chris William Martin. Check out a gallery of images from the show below.

It used to be that you only bothered to watch the CW on Thursdays, now if you’re a fan of Smallville, you’ll have to add Friday to your CW viewing schedule. Or you can, you know, just DVR it or something equally techy like that.

Below: “Wait, so which one is the evil one and which one is the good one again?”
